    Nice.
Watch your power steering line where it goes into the piston on a tight corner; one of our neighbors has one of those and the lugs on his R4's will tickle the line at full lock. He's busted it a couple of times that way. His is an older model, though, so JD may have corrected it on the newer ones.

I’ll be giving it a good overview in the coming days along with trying to get more legroom on the BH.
Also has a block and coolant heater.

Got to finally break ground today. Took the last 2 days going over everything, greasing all the joints and also adjusting the BH seat to gain an additional 3”+ of leg room.

No pix because I had fuel all over my hands, tried starting tractor a week or so ago because I needed to move a trailer in the yard and it’s too wet to drive the truck. It started, ran for about long enough to raise the 3pt with box blade on it and then died.... Fuel filter is gummed up.... damn, didn’t have one, nor did I have fresh fuel.
Remedied that today, pulled fuel filter bowl and the filter just came apart......, metal cap that slips over housing stayed in housing, bottom cap fell out loose with element... a lot of crap in the bowl....hmmm, guess it’s been longer than I though changing the filter.
Extracted the upper cap from filter housing, so much fun with loader attached. Cleaned bowl, purged tank of and water at the bottom, filled with fresh and algecide fit the new filter and bowl back on. Primed and cranked.....15min later and a spare battery it started and ran.

I’m slack... and still need to swap the tires

One of those things “we’ll get to it soon”. I’ve had stuff to rebuild my filter head on the Ford 4630 for over a year :anonymous:

Diesel and lack of maintenance will make headaches for anyone! Father in-law had a diesel kubota and when I changed the fuel filter in dead of winter due to frozen fuel, which was not known at the time. The filter was not a filter anymore.... what a pain that was . I feel your pain

mine isn’t terrible to get at, just more acrobatics to get around the loader.
My machine is way simple compared to a lot of the machines I do and have worked on.

The loader was the issue trying to loosen the filter with some kind of pliers!! Since it didn’t run and I couldn’t move the loader as in your situation... made for a fun time

Just found the thread. Honestly, I didn't read any of the previous pages.

Are zero turn projects allowed here?

I have my own BS thread, but don't mind sharing my pics.

    Give me guidance.

    Cool!

If I can make the deal happen, I might be making a road trip to south ohio this week.(wife's suggestion!)

Found a nice X mark with a windowed block. We will see.

today was a day of “making it run” my 3rd gen Runner (5spd) isn’t driven currently because it needs headgaskets, I haven’t felt like doing them, weather and space have been issues, mostly desire. It runs well just pressurizes cooling system to the point the pressure vents into recovery tank, doesn’t push fluid, just pressure.
It’s my own fault, I did head gaskets 6years ago, but didn’t use the correct head gaskets (there is a story to that) has always run well, and not using coolant, just started pressurizing system after about 5yrs. Don’t want to be somewhere when something let’s go.
Hopefully I can get a trusted buddy to do it this week. I’m tired of not being able to drive it. And tired of having to jump start or charge battery that dies after 2 weeks.

The Kubota we acquired recently would only run 8-10 mph on the road. I looked and the fuel filter was original to the tractor at 11-12 years old and 582.3 engine hours. I replaced it with a Carquest filter made by Baldwin and now it runs great on the road at almost 21 mph. The factory filter is painted to match the engine and the Kubota replacement filters are white. I cut open the factory filter and took some pics:

Not making filters stand out is a problem in a lot of manufacturers, I’ve run into that a few times, making them damn near impossible to access is also an issue.
Granted, the owner of said machine isn’t blameless, he should know how to maintain the machine, Joe homeowner generally doesn’t pay attention to the finer details until it doesn’t work at all.

Are you sure that's a fuel filter and not a hydraulic filter? The fuel filter is the one with drain water (clear filter housing), unless you have two fuel filters. If you do they should be connected.
