    Same.

I picked up a Yazoo Keys 27 hp Kohler Command 2 years ago.

The thing had been sitting in the field for 3 years. It would run with the choke at 3/4 closed. It would stall when the choke was opened completely.

New carb from China for $50.

I have never seen a carborated small engine start so smoothly.! Engage the starter for a quarter second and it was running! Just amazing!

It's not even worth it to rebuild. But is a good skill to have, though.

I put an Amazon carb on a 1995 four wheeler recently. It starts and runs amazing, it was around $40 and it’s a complicated carb.

When you said Yazoo I thought one of these, I didn't realize they made modern style mowers. I would like to have one to go along with all
the other stuff I have (but don't need). Like a Grasshopper these are giants that take a entire garage bay to store.
I have a weakness for Wisconsin powered stuff too - awesome sound.

My brother had an old yazoo with the handlebars on it, I ran it into a tree the first time I got on it.

Lol. This one was a plain, old hydraulic zero turn.

You would have a hard time telling it apart from an Exmark from that era.

Normally I would be too, but I am on the hunt for a decrepit riding mower for my cabin and an electric one would be hard to use at a place with no electricity lol.

Anyone know anything about Craftsman GT600's? I'm looking at 2 of them. Both are $300 and from the early to mid 90's. One has a gear drive and an Onan 20 and needs a deck pulley to be good (alledgedly). The other is a Hydro with a 18HP Kohler and needs a starter and key switch. Both look to be in similar condition.

Would primarily be used to mow and maybe drag a small cart, but primarily to mow.

    Thoughts?

2x Kohler parts are cheaper and more available.

    Kohler parts cheap? Bwa HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I can completely rebuild a chevy 350 for the same price it costs to rebuild a Kohler.

The command series is good, the courage series was junk.

Onan's are good engines but parts availability isn't the greatest. The older one's were tanks. I'd put them on par easily with the old Kohlers that used to be found in the old International cub cadets. [not the newer fake cubs]

Cheaper than Onan parts.... And I agree, "small" engine parts have crazy big prices.

Anyone wanna shed some insight .... had a call from a new customer about looking at his 6v cub lawn mower... wifey jumped it with 12 volts.... this job is about 20 miles one way and I’m considering actually looking at this BUT on the other hand have zero experience with a 6 volt system. I like a challenge and I also gotta keep in mind that I keep getting phone calls on other jobs that are way closer. Insight on this 6v cub

Tell them to convert it over to 12 volt. If they refuse to let you do it, forget about the job. Betting they smoked several things in the ignition system. [like a work friend who had a 6v positive ground old Ford. Wouldn't listen to me for 6 months dinking with it, jumped it - ground, wouldn't run after that. Finally did a 12 v - ground conversion and fessed up he should have done that in the first place.

This must be a Farmall Cub from the early sixties or before to be a six volt, positive ground. Sounds like a job you will get buried in. Pass.

Best thing to do is a 12 volt conversion with a Delcotron 10SI alternator, not difficult just time consuming to do a nice job.

I rewired my Farmall 140 because previous owners had taken the good time and trouble to cut, splice and tape just about every wire on the tractor.
