This must be a Farmall Cub from the early sixties or before to be a six volt, positive ground. Sounds like a job you will get buried in. Pass.

Best thing to do is a 12 volt conversion with a Delcotron 10SI alternator, not difficult just time consuming to do a nice job.

I rewired my Farmall 140 because previous owners had taken the good time and trouble to cut, splice and tape just about every wire on the tractor.

So I call the fella with the old farmall cub and left him a message about looking to change it to a 12v system because there maybe some extensive electrical damage to certain components. Also because the tractor is also further than I want to drive to have a look at it that I’m going to kindly walk away from this one.
Fella calls me back and says “ I thank you for at least thinking about it and calling me back, most people probably just leave me hang. Thanks for being a stand up guy”

The 6V systems get expensive trying to fix them, it is easier and cheaper to covert to 12V. I’ve worked on some and converted all but one, eventually :D

Probably best that you passed since it’s farther away.

Yes sir. She loves driving the 210 aerating, dethatching and sweeping the yard. As soon as she can get a straight line down I’ll get her on the zero turn to cut grass.

Thank you. They are unfortunitly going down in numbers fast. Mines not perfect but I’m half tempted to park it for the next 20 years and just let it go up in value.

It's so great to hear about people showing their kids how to do yard maintenance.

So many of the people in my circle do not show their kids common jobs. No one let's them do anything but vid games and sports if they are lucky.

Brother joe gets compliments all the time with his 4 kids ranging from 6-13 for mowing the schools yard, baseball field, track and field-field .... I was on the tractor the other day and they asked joe that they didn’t realize that he had 5 kids!!! He says yes but the big one has a drinking habit and the straight lines aren’t so straight .... that’s how you know the “big” one is mowing :anonymous:

Nice mower! I’d almost buy the Honda for 419.00 but either way, it’ll be a win win

Good choice. I'd take a look at this one, just because I have 1000 batteries that would fit it and my yard is small enough to make it work probably.

If the Honda was all wheel drive, I’d consider it

I had an AWD Husqvarna for a weekend, it must weigh twice as much as my Troy built with a Honda 160 does. It was exhausting to use. My yard doesn't require AWD anyways, so I chose poorly.

You have a need for awd? I couldn’t stand using one!! I’m sure if you had a hill it be worth it... I have 2 rwd... an ariens big wheel and a Honda and both have been great... ariens was my new mower from 2004... 599.99 back then!! But is built well and is heavy duty. Honda is my 40.00 find and only thing Iv done to that is an air filter, oil change and a blade sharpen.... my fav only because it was only 40.00!! :fistbump:

They ain’t nothing level about my lots! Thought about a RWD, thought the AWD would be better. Maybe I need to research this some more!
