I guess I'm weird. I love being on top of the hill. Great view and nice breeze.

I don't mind living on the hill -- living with the hill is a p-i-a...

It’s just the Blo that seeped out of improperly sealed bags. FBI usually has a 1 800 # for quality control. :)

I live on a side hill, and I don't mind it. It's a fairly shallow slope for most of my property, and I kind of like looking down into my wood lot/work lot from the living room of the house.

With the Illinois river a 1/4 mile below me I'm very glad I'm on the hill. Seen it over the banks and flooding everything down below many times. If it gets up to my house you better build an ark.

My driveway is 1600' above sea level, "town" is about 800'. There are several ways up -- short and savage or long and gradual, take your pick. In the winter that 800' climb can offer a challenge. If there is ever water on my first floor it is the end of the world.:bananadead:

you tube will show you how to fix the steering sector, and I think there is a kit on ebay way cheaper than deere. These are deere's "store line" machines, so not worth throwing tons of money at. Usually the rear wheels rust solid to the axles too, makes flat tires a lot more interesting. But if you can get it running and flip it or use it a few years, it might be worth it.

    here's the kit: https://www.ebay.com/itm/282571377782

We were talking about impacts for changing mower blades the other day and I posted a vid of my little Ryobi screwdriver shank impact knocking 100ftlbs loose.

I had no intention of picking up a battery 1/2" impact but couldn't pass this up today. P261 Ryobi on FB for $50. It's the smaller model. Rated at 300ftlbs. Their big one is 600ftlbs.

Got home and hit my Tacoma lug nuts. Zipped off like they were hand tight. The tiny amt I hit them in the vid was enough to make the torque wrench just click set at 85ftlbs. I have no doubt this will knock the mower blades loose.

Mowed the whole front yard this evening, now I’m selling my riding mower. This Ryobi is great, may take 2 batteries to mow the front, but it mowed it with enough juice on the second battery to get it back to the garage. The front hadn’t been mowed in at least 2 weeks, the ditch at the road in 3-4 weeks.

Spent the afternoon working on the deck for the New Holland, had everything planned - cruise control job...
Then "help" showed up -- that miserable s-o-b Murphy...

Spindle #1 was bent, I corrected it with the arbor press, also missing a snap ring for the bearing.
Spindle #2 had messed up threads, 1/2 hour of picking, filing and brushing - ok.
Spindle #3 -- pulley frozen on :censored: -- I called it a day here. :bananadead:

On the positive the $200 in parts from Messick's came quickly and are perfect match. With the 4 new tires, battery, fluids and filters I only have about $450 invested in my $100 yard sale mower -- everything going right on schedule...

Thanks. They grip great. ATV tires. I changed one of them to SunF non-directionals as backing up out of a holler with directionals is a bee-yotch. Here are the Suns gittin some.

Brother joe calls me around 6:00 last night “I need help mowing the school yard” apparently the school is having the front yard treated Wednesday (today) and it’s already thick and can’t be mowed for 2 days.....

good thing I was wrapping up one of my customers lawn mowers. Christian and his buddy stopped by, helped me load my bed full of wood that I had cut for my neighbor. The. I sprung this on them... hahaha 3 of us went down unloaded wood and mowed grass until 9:00 o_O Ryan never been on a tractor before but Is very learnable and quick... stuck him on a kubota ... I says hammer down, straight lines and don’t get off until the blades stop spinning .... we done good... have a good day boys
