Here's my $150 FBM pickup from the other day. It's a 1 owner, 1996 Murray with a 12.5HP B&S I/C. It also came with a deck belt and a spindle. I got a new battery and a drive belt for it as it was slow to crank and this old girl is going to my cabin to retire. I did have to replace 2 motor mount bolts, but that was no big deal.

Very clean and has no rust anywhere. Old guy I bought it from was pretty proud of it and treated it as such.

I ordered a new starter for our 2355 John Deere today. I priced them through JD, $550 for new and $450 for a reman. I had the original starter rebuilt locally for $175 in November of 2018 and it just failed again. I figured I’d roll the dice on a new DBelectrical starter. I’ve used them a few times before, this 2355 has a DBelectrical alternator on it now. I’ve also used one of their starters on a Yamaha ATV we used to own. That starter outlasted the rest of the machine.

This is the only place I know of to share my excitement, scored a basically brand new Powerflo bagger setup of Craigslist yesterday and saved $500 :D

Same, but the stars aligned with this one. I’d have bought new months ago but either the hopper or chute has been back ordered.

This popped up in Naperville (3hr drive) and I hit the road stat. Guy only used it twice last fall!

I got the starter off, it’s pretty chewed up. I think the flywheel is gonna be ok. It’s not great but it could be worse. This tractor has about 7,500 hours on it.

Both of my 140's starter rings looked like that, when I put a clutch in both of them I flipped the ring over. Saw dad do it numerous times on lots of things. One of them has been flawless for over a year, the other one has hung up at least 3 times the last year. I just put it in fourth gear and rock it back and forth and it'll unstick.

Good luck with yours! Hopefully it doesn't mess your new starter up, I know it's a lot of trouble to split it to replace the ring.

I didn’t really need a pump, I wanted the engine. It’s brand new never had gas or oil in it. A friend bought it 80% off at TSC a couple weeks ago for $90. He’s been after a light I had zero dollars in so I traded him.

Just stumbled upon this thread looking for a lawn tips off topic...
My name is Bill and I have an addiction to power tools and outdoor power equipment...

I have a Deere x350 42 because I cheaped out on the deck/bagger prices.regret it since. Brother in law has a Kubota bx that I borrow from time to time. Just under 2 acre wooded lot that needs a lot of love.

    thank you,
been looking to sell it for a 1/2 series or bx compact with bucket/loader but it’s gonna take some convincing with the Boss. Just hit 41 hours and it’s like 4 years old. 2 young boys have taken most of the property maintenance time away from me. But we have been getting landscape estimates of 8-10k for what she wants done; could totally justify it.

If/when you get something with a loader on it you'll wonder how you got by without one for so long.

I used one of their starters on my 02 Grizzly 660 and it's been doing great. A line came off the carb and leaked enough gas on the original to kill it.

Quoted this so you read it twice lol.

I've got two machines with loaders. 1) mini skid steer with a max lift capacity of 680lbs or so, and 2) MF35 Utility w/ a max lift capacity of somewhere around 2000lbs. I use both way more than I ever thought I would.

PS- wheelbarrows suck, I'll be happy if I never have to use one again.

Note- if considering a loader, I recommend going at least one size up from what you're thinking you need. My machine is 35hp, I could use 50+.

So I got the ignition coils for my mower monday, and got the carb last saturday. I've been busy and already mowed down the park so I wasn't stressing on getting it done so I left it alone. Anyway I finally brought the parts to work. Forgot the carb. Threw on the coils. She started right up and ran much better but still sputtered. My wife had to go out and about so I asked her to bring the carb to the shop. Threw it on in 5 minutes and she runs like a top now! Pretty happy. Debating on selling it. I got it for free and only have about 120 bucks in it. I'm sure I could sell it fast. Especially right now. Grass is growing. Plus I could always use the equipment we have at the shop. Just gotta pay for the fuel I use up.
