I have a couple of both and don't think you can go wrong with either.

After several years of just about constant use the Battery Tender packed it in, I'm not holding a grudge though. It was in use non stop on something: cars, mowers, spare batteries for quite a few years. Simple to use, 2 clips and plug it in.

I got a NOCO Genius 1 for a replacement, it has a pile of different functions -- the included instructions are printed so tiny I needed my super glasses to read them.

This is an item that I feel genuine (Deltran) Battery Tender or the NOCO is a better choice than Harbor Freight knock offs, the few dollars more you pay for the premium brand is buying better quality electronics IMO.

I have used them for years, they really help extend the life of seasonal use batteries like mowers and summer use vehicles.
Check/top up the (distilled) water in the battery about twice a year helps too.

I bought a used Ford truck that came with a big Mopar branded battery.
After several years it started sounding a bit slow so I changed it out for a DEKA.
I was stunned when I realized the Mopar was over 11 years old - my personal battery record.

My boat starter battery STB last time out this year. Kinda had a small hint the time before. My buddy asked what now. So I just hooked the jumper cables up I keep in the boat to the trolling battery. So I didn’t think it was that old but, Yeup, 11 years also.
I have a battery like 15 sitting on the floor in the garage. If I need to jump something or do a test it’s right there. At some point I’ll get rid of it.. lol

Water heater update, got it wrapped this weekend. I'm not sure just how much energy the additional wrap saves, but I had it on hand, and being as the water heater is in the garage, which is not temperature controlled it can't hurt.

I've still got to come up with a different method for coving the pipes. The little noodles that I've got aren't working with the curves in the pipe, and I need more to cover the pipes all the way to the ceiling.

sometimes a razor knife or my favorite, hacksaw can help make the cuts to provide the best coverage. zip ties work well with that too.

or strips of fiberglass insulation. its a PITA but if you keep it fluffy it will provide even more R-rating value. it wouldnt look sexy but that on the tank and top of should be a big difference.
