Haha no, one says you are on video and the other says there is a security system. I need one more that says no solicitation.

My neighbour got "surface treatment" done...didn't turn out like the road surface he thought it would. More like black paint and stone chips. I'm not popular there with the snowblower (7.5 foot, 100hp tractor). He usually has to rake a bit off the lawn every spring. Only 2 cleans this year so far, it used to be 10 - 12 by February. And I just bought the new tractor and blower last summer! It will likely snow again in my lifetime.

I do need one that says beware of the dog even though I don’t have a dog. Seems like the best deterrent of them all.

maybe i should start a thread. but i like this one. WAY off topic but i figured the followers here wouldnt flag me right away. my fire pit. just takes 2 to 3 matches. 2 to 3 pints of gas, and a leaf blower if its raining. 20220211_181828.jpg

for the welders of the bunch the sheet metal is corten. rusts surface only as a skin and needs no further maintaining.

After almost blowing myself up multiple times using gas… stop using gas to light your fire! Get some diesel way safer.

This times a thousand. Gasoline vapor is super volatile and spreads out beyond where you pour. Diesel or used oil is still flammable enough to start the fire but burns slower and doesn’t have vapor that’s looking for a way to flash off.

Since we’re throwing out ideas for safer methods. You could consider using a propane weed torch. I’ve used mine very successfully for things like this. They have more control and avoid this type of ignition.:nuclear:

A couple of things I use are.
Dryer lint, it's free and easy to store.
A roll of TP. Last fall while camping at an Off Road Park I was not having any luck getting a fire started. Used a (unused) roll and worked perfectly.

Gas is cheaper. I like to throw a sparkler to light it from 10 feet away

i just make a trail of fuel out away from the pile & light the trail........

but a good stump burner does the job just as good.

I saved my oil when changing it, it's great for starting fires too and I got to do something with it anyway.

DON'T use gas, I've seen way to many people get burned from it. Like others said, it's not the liquid that burns, it's the fumes.
