What did you do with the fish? Haul them off or push them back in the water?

Brushhogging went well. The grass could've gone 2 more weeks but the sumac went nuts--nearly over the hood.

All was going great till I was blowing the mower off and my garage out then tragedy struck. Man down! We got a man down! MEDIC!!!!

Got the cylinder mounted, used a 10.25” long x 1” pin to secure the top of the cylinder. Made a neat little captured setup out of it. It’s not 100% square but I *needed* the machine today so it is what it is. First time I’ve fired up my plasma in a while. Hand cut and smoothed with a flap wheel.
    003438AE-D3CD-4349-9830-6E72862C8C20.jpg

Welded to the pin, the original had a circlip on each side, but that method failed and caused damage. This way prevents the pin from wearing out the mounting flanges on the machine because it’s captured.
    9B2724C2-2ED3-45DE-9A58-F9EF61753F0C.jpg

I installed grease fittings so I can keep the pins lubed easily instead of removing them to grease:
    A93A4978-A62C-415E-A45D-BBE20F7555A6.jpg

Aaaand didn’t pay close enough attention to the clearance I had between this cylinder end and a hydraulic fitting. Sheared it off five minutes after I installed the cylinder. D’oh! I’ll back it out and put a plug in or lower profile fitting. If plug, at least I can unscrew it to grease...
    E95F661F-9D39-4EF3-9D07-FBBDF62BB09C.jpg

The test, I just wanted to see what it would lift with the newly rebuilt lift cylinder. My father (in the pic) had heel injections for plantar fasciitis on Friday, his feet hurt. I can’t lift the radiators myself, they’re probably 150-200lb/ea. Very heavy.
    991D01C1-F10D-4724-A7DE-D785FC432BC3.jpg

It lifted them, but I needed a younger cousin to help me balance the machine haha. I won’t push it that hard again, just wanted to know it’s limits. Me and my cousin total 300lbs and the rear tires were still bouncing a bit, so with a tipping load of 650lbs w/ a 175lb operator, I had to have nearly 1000lbs on the forks. Struggled a touch but lifted no problem on a medium idle!

This sucker paid for itself today!

That's a stout little beast! Needs some ballast to help it live up to its potential.

I ran into the grease fitting dilemma the other day as well and ended up drilling and tapping a bolt on the end and crossdrilling the shaft halfway to meet the end hole then ground a grease groove around the shaft to allow grease to travel. Covered the zerk with a nut cap. I know it weakens the bolt but I'm only lifting up to ~500lbs so I figure it should be fine with my 3/4" bolts.

I’m pretty happy. I really only care about the tractor, tiller, and moldboard plow. Hoping to unload the rest.

Here it is out of the trailer

What’s the difference in the 1050 and the 1250, 2 HP?

The sickle mower go with the mower? I’ve always thought they were cool on the mowers.

Yeah it is! I’m very happy with its performance today. I might make a couple posts on the back of the machine on which to attach extra ballast, at least 50lbs, I really shouldn’t lift more than 500lbs with it. I do have a bigger tractor/loader so I needn’t push my luck with this too much. Just wanted to see if it would do it!

This was my original plan, however that top pin is 10.25” long, I’d have to drill 5.125” into it. I’m not sure I’m that accurate with my drill press. It would have easily been the best option.

I’ll see if I can fit a lower profile fitting in there. If not, maybe I’ll look into finding a way to drill the pin accurately. The zerk I had was a 45* so it stuck out quite a bit.

Find someone with a lathe, it won’t be a problem drilling it that deep and straight

It’s belly mower or sickle mower. Because of the way they mount you can’t use them together.

Yes, the 1250 had a 12 HP Wisconsin and the 1050 has a 10 HP Wisconsin.

The 1250 is also a larger tractor. It’s a “large frame”. The 1050 is a “tube frame”.

My 1250 is hydrostatic as well. My 1050 is a six speed. Although, I believe you could get both in either configuration.

Honestly, I’m just learning all of these things myself.

    I had a Bolens 1886 a few years back. 0DB20891-3C13-4104-BA64-81B1EEE536FC.jpg

Just a size comparison that’s a JD 140 H3 next to it. The Bolens had a 2 cylinder Onan motor and foot controlled hydrostat. I had the front blade, shaft drive deck and shaft drive tiller with it.
