That would be the cheaper route probably.

I'd argue if you have a welder, the saddles are far cheaper than the drop receiver. TSC has those saddle spring perches for like $20. Tack them on the top of the axle and flip your u bolt and plates. Done.

Flip side is your trailer gate angle becomes a nightmare for riding mowers to break over.

Proper solution imo is drop receiver at almost any cost.

I speak from experience. I have spring over and a 4 1\2" drop receiver lol.

    Reserected from the dead.
That would be a bad move. The trailer deck will be higher so your ramp gate would be steeper. You would never be able to load a mower. The deck would get hung up at the gate hinge.

You have the best setup now for loading equipment.

The lower hitch would be the easiest solution to all your issues with the trailer.

I agree with @Lt. Dangle raising the trailer would cause trouble with the deck dragging and possibly catching at the ramp. Drop hitch makes more sense.

It looks like you have a 3/4” drop considering loading you don’t want the trailer to be perfectly level. In my experience you want a utility trailer to be slightly higher in the front to ease the gate transition with the mower deck. I wouldn’t get too crazy with you drop maybe try a 6” drop before you go to a 8”. IMHO.

That is a 6” drop mount. This trailer is mostly for hauling a four wheeler, I’ve only hauled a lawnmower twice.

Dad said price it at $800-$900, I priced it at $1200 and it was sold the next day for $1100. It was not in excellent condition, it was in my dad’s eyes, but more of good used condition. He also failed to mention the duct tape on the bagger hose.

That looks more like a 4" drop.

When the blade spins on the shaft I have never had much luck getting them to stay tight after. You can try the washers and torque the dog out of it and it works - for a while... Not long.

Fortunately the spindle is usually easy to change.

Just get the correct drop draw bar and call it a day, the taller you make the trailer the steeper the ramp gets and the worse the ramp to deck angle becomes.

I'll mow later today or tomorrow and see if my current fix will hold or not. I sent an email to Titan, but I haven't gotten a reply yet, and so far, I haven't had much luck finding a replacement online. The spindle assembly is part no. ATFM150.00.00.000-4, and the spindle itself is part number 4020000088. I intend to replace it, but I'd prefer to not have to go to the dealer, as I'm sure the price will be higher.

I got a response from Titan last night, but not precisely with the answer I was hoping for.

    "Hi Mike,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

I have checked our inventory list and the spindle assembly is not available. I will reach out to our Product Engineers to get more information about this part and ask if they know other place where you can purchase this part.

I will send another email once they answer.

I'll tentatively mark this request as solved, but if you require additional assistance, a response from you will reopen this ticket or create a new one. Thank you for the opportunity to help resolve any issues - your satisfaction is our priority!
