    Score!!!

Reminded me of a mower my brother bought at an auction, someone wrote on the hood with a sharpie "runs good, needs carb work". He bought it, turned out the connecting rod was broke

    Update:

Got it back to the house and unloaded it.

Checked gas and oil- both full and the gas smelled fairly fresh.

Turned it to "run", engaged choke, pulled it twice and it was running. Turned off choke and it smoothed right out.

Tested it by plugging in my circular saw.

It ran it just fine with very little change in tone when saw was ran.

    I'm calling this a win...

...must have had something to do with that 4 leaf clover...I dunno?

This thing hasn’t seen daylight in 2 years, started right up but needs a new air filter and spark plug. I’ll probably go with an NGK or Champion spark plug, but is anyone using the cheap off brand air filters on Amazon? Gotta get the 4wheeler trail cleared out for deer season. And yes, I’m late on getting the trail cleared out.

I need to do a tune up on my husky 435. I have ran that thing hard. Only issue I have with it is sometimes it stalls while idling

The air filter is key to long engine life, I prefer name brands for things like that.

Yup. Had a 290 and bought the Amazon ones. Works fine. I loved my 290 but it was getting old and I was never happy with the oiler. Sold it for about what I paid used.
bought a 170 for small jobs, then a 261 and finished things off with a 400c.

Plain old GOOD electrical tape [you know, the good stuff that pretty much glues itself together so well that you can't peel it apart after installing it] works fine, if it needs to be removed, a razor blade at the seam works fine.

Also, there is no reason to wrap a modern water heater, especially if it uses foam insulation, they are very efficient at holding heat in. If you DO use one, inspect it several times a year, a tiny leak will hold moisture inside it, prevent you from seeing it leaking, and rot it out pretty quickly.
