Cash or Financed? Used or New also?

I tried looking for used SS machine, most are abused and no warranty or hardly used and lack the new finacing offers/incentives, little to no warranty left and when it comes down Kubota offering .9% for 72 months on SVL75, with 2 year warranty, that's hard for 3rd parties to compete with. Used with less than 500hours, finaced rates are around 2.75 to 3.75% and that only makes it about $100 or less per month, compared to purchasing a new machine.

    , but the (2+2) 4 year warranty is additional $4k :(

How do you like the TP trailer....honestly?

Kind of wished they did powder coat finish vs paint. Then again, paint is pretty easy to repair and look good.

I wish your machine was sitting in my back yard.

I did a blend job on a powdercoated fender. Painted alkyd enamel and feathered it into the powdercoat. It wet sanded in and buffed just like enamel to enamel.

lol, yeah that grapple is a money maker, I will do side work sometimes, grubbing out brush, dead trees and dead fall limbs etc and small trees. I need to see what the IRS is going to hit me for on last year taxes, but I'm hoping to get a Kubota CTL 75 cab AC if possible.

Red circle below, dead tree it was over 1k lbs, it was pulling me over when I drugged it to the burn pile.

Time Laspe  and tree disappears.

I cleaned/cleared that entire 5 acre track(except the for the nice hardwoods) in 6 days, maybe 7 days total with some chainsaw work and tractor maintenance, it paid for half of the trailer.

    TP trailer...
I like it a lot, I have had for 8 months, according to my truck, I have about 2,200 towing miles on it, I like how the truck keeps track of the milage on each of my trailers.

The only I don't like is when carrying it empty(which is not often, for steel or fence materials etc) it's noisy SOB empty, the tilt/deck section needs some heavy duty rubber between that steel. I want to put a small trapezoid/tongue tool box for binders and chains, but don't want to interfere with the heavy duty drop jack.

I will add some more TP pictures & details/explanation later.

Well, that's why a lot of HD trucks are rated at 9990, for that little bit of technical cushion. That lets you run a 16k trailer and stay under that 26k limit.

Very true. 99% of the time it's a non-issue. However, it's a HUGE liability if you have an accident while you're towing.

Thanks, I did notice that 1 ton DRW trucks rated for 14k gvwr and with my current trailer rated 14k that puts me over?

1ton DRW truck weighs 10k and my trailer fully loaded total weight 13k, 23k total.

It doesn't matter what the true weight is, it's what's on the stickers.

A guy I know runs his own landscaping business, and when he was shopping for a new dump trailer he was looking at a 16k unit, and fortunately his insurance guy caught it before he signed for the loan because his truck is 11k as well. Basically told him that without having his CDL that his truck & trailer combination wouldn't actually be insurable and that if he ran it and got into an accident he was on his own. The guy at the trailer dealership never even mentioned it; was ready to sell him a trailer that technically he couldn't even legally tow out of the lot. :notsure:

Yes, again technically. 99% of the time it'd be a non-issue, but if you got pulled over and they checked it you'd be looking at some fines, and even worse if you got into an accident. Doesn't really matter what the weight you're actually carrying is, they concern themselves with what your equipment is rated to carry.

Thanks for information guys, hopefully someone else who is buying equipment/trailers learn from this as well.

Most importantly, buy a trailer rated for 16k, but have the manufacture downgrade the GVWR to 12K per that Texas Pride / Kubota video.

I have not bought a StupidDuty truck yet, but I'm looking for one. Wish I had more knowledge before hand, I feel like I'm doing things ass backwards lol.

    My trailer rated 14K.

If I don't get anything bigger than that Kubota SVL75 9k, attachments vary from 1k to 1.7k, my current trailer is good for the weight, I was wanting to get a DRW 1ton, but that would put me over by the manufacture stickers for GVWR with my current trailer.

Well shit the SRW 1ton SD Ferd is rated at 12,400, that's 400lbs over the 26k.

The F250 is rated at 10,000.

I was really wanting a flatbed, place grapple there and then tractor and attachments.

Or Flatbed with the bucket and box blade, trailer with tractor with grapple and shredder

Or Flatved with grapple, then trailer with SVL 75 and rotary cutter.

The equipment is for my farm, but like many others, putting the equipment to use off the farm essentially pays for the equipment...

Basically 175 days of side work covers the cost of the Skidsteer and rotary cutter.

    Guys,
Keep throwing suggestions and beers owed will follow.

I was a master driver in the military(I drove the military and cilvillian aviation fuel trucks a lot and probably a dozen more different trucks) and many moons ago Texas offered us CDL's and all I had to do was take the written portion, boy why didn't I do that.

I was a volunteer fireman for 12+ years and drove numerous firetrucks through the years. Never had a CDL in my life. Wonder why it didn't apply to them?

That would be something you had looked into I guess. I had a couple of my friends get their CDL back then, one of them still has it today, he is master diesel mechanic/shop foreman, I think for Kenworth a couple hours north of me, none of the other mechanics have it and he gets extra pay/stipend to road test the trucks after they have been worked on.

    :annoyed:

I was offered to get a CDL back when I was in army too, a California CDL on top of it. And I was stupid and didn’t take it either. Didn’t want to change my license over from Nevada. What a terrible decision.

Since then I have gotten my CDL and it has paid for itself. But I wish I had gotten it way back then.
