That is a little odd. Although, if it just broke a tooth the chunk may be sitting at the bottom of the diff. for Wednesday

Thinking about going to check out a Yanmar 226D about an hour from me. Has a FEL, 3-pt, decent tires and tins, shows 326 hours but is a 3 digit gauge so I have no idea of true hours. Guy is asking $7500...Seems like it's worth going an taking a look? I'm a little nerved out that it has a whole new cooling system, makes me wonder if it had a chronic overheating problem and the HG may be trashed. Seller says he's owned it for a year and wants to buy a skid steer.

I'd be leery of why it has a new cooling system too.

They're awesome tractors. The GF's dad has one and has beaten the absolute crap out of the poor thing and it just keeps coming back for more. The shuttle is nearly as good as an HST for loader work but without the power loss, and the low bottom gear really lets you creep along when you need to.

But, the new cooling system could be a red flag. Definitely ask WHY it's got a new cooling system, and see if the bullsh*t-o-meter lights up.

Aside from a freak storm, I think I'm done plowing snow for the season. Switched back to TLB yesterday. Went down through the marsh to pull some rocks from my shoreline. Got a couple, but the frost is still at the surface. Heading back to Calgary in a few days, so I'll have to wait till next month to try again. PXL_20210315_155005260.jpg

So last night was a shit show. 70 cars got stranded in my area and got a call to help out. I politely declined. The roads were closed for a reason. Tired of freezing my ass off for a bunch of dumbasses. People were actually out in this shit with low clearance sports sedans.

    Beginning of yesterday:

I called it around 8pm last night.

Depending on my state of health at the time of the “help” call I’d probably be the same way. How much you guys get in snow?

We got 18”, but it’s the 45 mph winds that got us. 3-5’ drifts.

To be honest, my Heep isn’t set up for winter rescues anymore.

Then there’s the other side of things. When highway Patrol/sheriff department closes the roads, you better think twice before heading out in this kind of weather. My neighbor is the fire chief of the local department. They are going to charge these dumbasses for using the resources. A lot of people slept on the floors in the fire department last night. That’ll learn them.

Pretty nasty up here too. This guy eventually got dragged out by a massive loader. One of those that are hinged in the middle.

Took this piece of pipe and welded a piece in the center, welded two angles to fit the inside of the loader in case it tries to close up when I cut it. Worked good to lift it up, now to find time to cut it.

    You're serious?

4wd. Picture is deceiving. That's a deep, wet snow on top of dirt road.

Must have been some ice underneath, I guess. Just surprising to see it stuck in so little snow
