I bought it last year from my dad, he bought a tractor from a friend and it came with it and he already had one. The rest of it isn't worn at all, only the points. Now to paint it.

Oddly enough, I'd never heard of a Wisconsin Robin engine before. I've been around small engines my entire life. I've heard of Wisconsin, even owned a few. My father's fabricator built logsplitter from 50yrs ago has an 18hp Wisconsin twin cylinder on it. Just idles along and splits pretty much anything you throw at it.

In any case, I decided to search Facebook Marketplace for "Wisconsin Robin" (which isn't really a Wisconsin engine, it's made by Fuji Heavy Industries, aka Subaru, and now sold under the Subaru Robin name). Much to my surprise, a pull-start version of the very same motor on my mini skidsteer came up for sale, $50. Too much for me to waste on it. I waited two weeks, price dropped to $20. Messaged the guy, met up with him, and I'm now the proud new owner of another WI-390 11hp Robin motor.

The carb is dirty on the outside, mint on the inside, gas tank is clean (and literally bolt-on), low oil sensor is there, and now I've got a proper air filter housing and even an old air filter to match up at the parts store. it's a complete motor. I got it to pop off ether, so I bet it'll run, too. Can't beat the price.

Nice find! Keeping the old one for spares, I would assume?

Thanks, and you bet! I'll still try to clean up the old tank and just install it on the spare motor, same with the carb, etc... I find it easier to keep things all together until needed. Less likely to get lost.

I also realized that I'm dumb- I originally thought that this little machine didn't have hydraulic remotes, but it has a factory diverter valve. I followed the lines off the valve and sure enough, they're in PLAIN SIGHT, just not where I anticipated they'd be based off the few pictures I've seen of these things online. So that's cool, now I'll build a hydraulic post hole digger for it using either a salvaged wheel motor or a new high torque, low speed hydraulic motor off Surplus Center. I won't have time to really work on it much this weekend, I've got lots going on, but I'm hoping next weekend to have this sucker up and running!

Thank you gentlemen. Added all the hydraulics and built the hitch. Off the shelf Swisher ATV bucket and arms. Added a hydraulic deck lift cylinder to a rear sleeve hitch and blade and dig with implements using it. 0310190738.jpg

1974 Sears Suburban, I bought 2 of them from an old teacher of mine. They were consecutive serial number tractors. I made a hydraulic three point for plowing gardens. Then I wanted to see if I was smart enough to build a loader for one. I sold both of them a couple years ago because I have way to many garden tractors and a guy seen it and couldn’t live without it.

This guy had bought some implements off me. He saw it because I loaded a tiller that he bought with it. Then after he went back home, about every couple of months he would call me about buying it. This went on for 2 years! So when he called the next time I told him how much and he drove the 80 miles to my house immediately!
