Think I’m just going to pick up a new box blade instead of looking for a good used one. Most of the used ones are pretty beat up and want as much or more than a new one.

Called my local Kubota dealer and a new Land Pride 60” BB is around 770.00

You'll be happier in the long run, not buying someone else's junk or paying almost new when you could have new. Land Pride makes good stuff

By mini I meant actual dedicated mini excavators.

The 15k - 25k weights are the range of backhoes built here in Dubuque, which are the 310, 410, and 710

    Please report back.

I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to what Toro and Exmark ask for their decals.

Yeah, ok. Actual commercial stuff. That'd definitely weigh more.

That's all I have experience with! They're not something you pull around with a pickup, and I just saw a backhoe with an F250 in front of it and thought "well duh"

That's another thing I learned today, I had no idea those trucks can pull that much these days. Is that without a gooseneck?

EDIT: I see you said "conventional" so I'll be quiet now, hahaha

let me know what you need and I’ll see if I’m able to do it. I use oracal 651 all weather permanent vinyl for most of my outdoor applications. I made some print then cut and coated them in outdoor clear coat, haven’t been able to see the sun effects yet...

I pulled a 53 footer for a few years and it's crazy to me that you can hook up to 1/3 the weight with half the axles and brakes and a normal driver's license!

I'm feeling out of my element in more ways than one! Happy Monday, I need to get to work

Agreed with whomever said way too rich. Also, this machine wasn't upgraded to a one-wire alternator was it? I got a brand new one-wire from YT and I think the diode pack is bad. If I let the tractor sit with the battery hooked up it'll drain it overnight. I put a battery disconnect on the negative terminal. Easier than sending it back. Still charges perfectly.

Also this- and when I still had points/condenser in my MF35 Utility, I went through several condensers. Most of the new ones are cheap Chinese junk. Got tired of it and did as fxntime said- upgraded to an electronic ignition module. Between that and the alternator upgrade, the spark on my machine has never been so hot. I'm talking fat, blue spark that snaps hard and looks like lightning. WELL worth the upgrade and easily reversible if you want to go back to "collector item".

If that's the HF tire changer, be careful with that bead breaker if you use it on some really stuck beads. It WILL bend, and if you reinforce it, the tube section it's attached to WILL bend. Ask me how I know. lol

I need to rebuild my bead breaker and find a piece of thicker tubing to use for the handle point, I bent the hell out of it all swapping tires for my wife's Subaru.

The towing #'s on the new diesels are just nuts. You need a CDL to even take advantage of close to what they're rated for. Conventional tow ratings for like 20k and over 30k on a 5th wheel, even for the 4x4's

Added a quick disconnect to the negative terminal as well, do that with all of my equipment that has batteries for GP.

two wire alternator on it, will troubleshoot more in a few days, dialysis today and the boy has scouts this evening.

MSRP on the big 3 setup for towing are around $90 grand so I'd hope they've come a LONG way but that is absolutely nuts - I bought my first goddamn house for 95K!

Thanks for going easy on me guys, I didn't mean to dumb the thread down :cheers:

Hell, I bought my CURRENT house for $95k, lol.
And no worries about the conversation; there's a difference between ignorance and being dumb.

There's a reason that I'm always complaining about wanting a light duty diesel option for the HD trucks. Something with the numbers of a late-production 5.9 Cummins or early 6.6 Duramax; 500-600 ft/lbs and 20+ mpg. I don't need 1000 ft/lbs; but I want something that can comfortably tow mid-teens and won't devour its transmission, that can still take a plow and give good fuel economy unloaded.

Edit: Basically, I want a truck from 2005 but with 8 speeds, a warranty & without 15 years of wear & tear
