Year? Looks like a 2015+ from the dash?

Right, so to buy a new version of it now it's a $70k truck.

Of course, the gassers right now are nearly as bad. I was browsing new 2500's online the other day and mid-trim gassers were like $60k.

But, I'm sure that with modern tech they could pretty easily get mid 20's consistently with a lower output engine, and I wouldn't have to derate my trailer to drive it without a CDL, lol

Two people off Tundras purchased 3/4-1 ton gassers between 48-51 with LT trim, upgraded leather convenience package. They purchased through Costco.

Diesels...agreed. Now it’s 70+. Not sure I would want a newer diesel. The new 10 speed GM made Allison has not been impressing to me.

Crazy time to buy vehicles. The wife wanted me to check out new diesels this year. I passed. Only have 65k on mine.

I bought a 2015 Chevy with the Duramax/Allison combo new and only had it for 15,000 miles. It was probably the dumbest, mid-life crisis purchase I've ever made and I traded a really nice tricked out 2013 FJ for it that I wish I still had. I was bored one day and test drove a couple 3/4 tons, first the 6.0 gasser and then the Dirtymax. I got an instant chub and had to have it. Being in a truck that size and feeling like you're getting shot out of a cannon when you trounce it was great but obviously I didn't need it.

I only towed with it a few times, never anywhere near it's capacity, but I'm glad I bought it just for the experience of owning a diesel. The 6 speed Allison was by far the nicest auto slushbox I've ever had the pleasure of owning. The 90 dollar fill ups/bottle of Standyne each time, DEF (or a delete and then worry about the CP4 grenading without warranty) etc, made me unload it while I didn't take it in the shorts too bad.

That truck was just under 50k out the door. I was just online the other day and saw the Denali with all the bells and whistles MSRP'd at 88k, but of course they were offering a 10k discount.......still though. That's fricking crazy!

EDIT: found a pic of the old girl!IMG_0454.jpg

We rented a Kubota B26 this past weekend to remove some stumps and smooth out a few areas at the property my wife and I own. The wife's cousin loves playing with the tractors and was willing to pick it up with his full size Dodge and transport it back. All we needed to do was to give him some seat time and he was happy. Certainly not a huge tractor but it did a nice job and it was brand new. It had never been rented before. I had never operated one before and did not get barely any seat time at all but the controls were much easier to operate than I anticipated.

Any one rebuild a hydro pump on a ZT?

Owner says" right side hydro is starting to make noise".

I'm not sure what that means.

I can buy a new pump for $500 or so, but am curious if they are as easy to rebuild as YT vids seem to show.

    Color me skeptical.

I did buy the thing since I sold everything else I had.Screenshot_20210518-072529.jpg

Personally I wouldn't take the time to rebuild it if you can get a new one for 500. I've never opened one up. Replaced many of seals around the fan/pulley shaft but thats about it.

When these go bad, they tend to send metal flakes through the system. It's not uncommon for a pump to take out a wheel motor, or vice versa. I'd check the fluid for shiny bits. Once you replace, flush EVERYTHING very well so you don't trash the new pump and/or wheel motor.

That mower more than likely isn't that complex. Just two hydro-gear pumps that act as wheel motors. May or may not be tied together off of the same hyd lines. Should be an easy r&r job. They more than likely share the same hyd fluid reservoir but probably don't send fluid from one axle to the other. At least in a manner that would trash the second pump.

ETA: I said Hydro-gear. It could be a toro part i dont know. I'd need model and serial to be sure.

I guess my 1st step will be to pull the filter and do an autopsy. Need to see if any metal particles are present.

I don’t know of a quiet hydraulic pump! Run that sucker if it’s cutting grass my friend!

(Or take the owners word that something is amiss and dodge a future bullet.)

    You’re right either way!

I figured there would be two pumps, two wheel motors, one reservoir that may or may not be mostly split down the center. I was just saying that if a pump shreds itself, there's a chance that the wheel motor at least on the same side won't be far behind if it's been run like that.

I could be wrong, I'm no expert, but I've replaced some of this stuff on an older Ferris. Kindof a crappy job...

These tend to be a pump/transaxle in one kind of deal.

I only rebuild the commercial versions. They are designed to be repaired and put back in service.

This one had individual pumps and motors.

Just checked motor costs. eBay has new units $550/2. Pumps are around $460 and up each.Screenshot_20210518-142237.jpg

The new starter is in. It’s spinning it faster than the old one ever did. I have no idea how long it will last, but it has a 1 year warranty.

I had no idea such a thing existed with zero turns. The only two I've ever owned were 1) an old, wildly beat to snot Husqvarna and my current old Ferris, both of which had/have individual pumps and wheel motors. (Like koditten posted above)

So some of the lower end zero turns have a transaxle like a hydrostatic conventional ride-on? That's pretty wild.

Actually I take most everything I said back. That particular model that @koditten is talking about has two pumps and two motors. Might just be an older mower thing? Maybe I’ve been working on too many ride on aerators. Some lower end light duty ZT’s probably use a hyd transaxle. I’ve been working on a lot of stand on equipment that use a lot of hydro gear pumps. And I neglected to think about toro zt MOWERS.
