They did have more color choices, but they did not sell well so they only offered them for a year or two. Here's some ads from back in the day

They also made all the attachments cart, tiller etc. in white. In 2013 I was at the 50th anniversary of Deere making the garden tractor held in Horicon Wisconsin. Just the NOS seat for one of those was going for $1200.

Indeed, the original colored patio seats bring ridiculous money if you can even find them. For this one I had a regular yellow seat kit and used red vinyl dye.

Figured out why the valve cover was leaking on the new to me mower. Simple fix

Thanks for the Horicon pics! Wanted to go but couldn't make it. I think my favorite part of the shows is seeing the oddball stuff people make with spare parts.

Yup, this guy was about 14 when he started the tractor. His dad had a real one still working on the farm. He finished it when he was in high school. He went to college and now works for Deere. It has a diesel motor out of his dads Ford Escort. They had diesels for about 2 years, that I didn’t know. The tractor was actually 4 wheel drive.

Here’s a few more from Horicon. The mini bike was a prototype hence the PT50. It was built about the time the first 4wheelers were hitting the market. Deere scraped the idea and started building the 5 wheeled AMT’s. This prototype sat in a Deere’s engineers basement until he came to a show a few years ago. He told a collector about it and gave it to him. The only one ever made!

That 110 crawler is awesome and looks factory. I want to do that with my sons cub cadet original my brother gave him.

Yup it is pretty slick. I’ve seen it at a few other shows too. I think it’s out of my range of fabricating.

If you want to fab a crawler, folks say to start with a hydrostatic garden tractor with left/right steering brakes. Makes it way simpler. you can use the existing pedals or fab up levers like the real ones.
Of course when you brake one track, the other goes double speed... gets your attention!

If I can find some tracks I may get two finals off a Farmall Cub, they will bolt to the trans on this original and give me independent brakes. Just thinking now, got to find some small tracks first.
