How long are the tubes? I bet there is a rubber cap or plug that would fit on the end of the tube.

I haven't used one in about 8 years and it looked like this. I think on this style, I was able to continue suction until the line was mostly clear. We rarely had issues with dripage on these.

I did have a green kid try and pick up the entire 13 gallon drip pan full to the top and return it to its storage position. He nearly got soaked in hydro. These can suck the oil from the drain pan with the pan on the ground. It doesn't get any easier than that.

 

I want to say around 4' I think? They're atleast that.

After seeing that I will completely abandon any idea of pulling anything serious with my little K58.

 

I read this and got curious so I started digging through our old records. Sadly I couldn't find anything showing the original purchase price. I do know that a new one from the same company is close to $12k these days though.

An interesting find in the records was my dads 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with the fully loaded Laramie package. He still owns it to this day and it looks like he paid 38,883 for it back in late '03.

It sounds like most people are steering me towards another trailer. Probably a good call and more than likely what I'll do. I wish we had one time tabs on trailers here in Washington but sadly I have to renew those things every year.

 

I can't remember what I'm paying for my one ton. I know its more than the average though joe because I register mine for 28,000 lbs. I do know that my 12 yard dump truck registered to 56k costs me close to $1100 per year.

 

I've got 24,000 on my '03 Duramax and they are right at $500 a year.

 

So you must need to include the trailer weight on the truck reg.

Here we reg the truck up to the GVW of the truck, $170 for my 8600 GVW F-250 and the trailer is also reg for its own GVW.
When towing as long as the tongue weight/cargo doesn't push you over GVW you are good.

 

Yes sir, truck and trailer GVW has to be covered. My goosneck is rated 14K and my truck is 9,640 I think (close to 10K).

 

I laughed, I have a yard light wood pole that I put mine on using the ground wire and a staple to hold it in place.

I've forgotten it more then a time or two and wandered around aimlessly in the garage looking in boxes and containers.

 

Since mowing season is coming up I wanted to throw this in here. If you are getting beat up by your mower seat there is a great fix. I mounted a universal tractor suspension seat on my XT3 a couple years ago and it is like night and day on the ride.

My old front hinge/rear spring seat beat me to death on my rough property. This thing is awesome. My thread on the tractor forum was revived with another user mounting one and happy with it. Probably at least 6 of us have gone this route and all have been pleased with it.

 

That's a great idea and those seats can be picked up at TSC for not a whole lot ($100ish), I have one on my Ford tractor.

 

I got lucky on mine and got it on sale for $69 at Atwoods. I didn't know if it would work out so only bought one. I wish I had bought 3 now.

 

Here's one someone put on a grass green colored tractor. Good thing they have safety yellow wheels and seats so you can find them in the grass when they break down mowing.

 

I never had any luck with green tractors, to be fair all the ones I had were old and cheap.

And that silly hydro on the fender, use something with the hydro under your foot once and you see that fender thing is a p-i-a.

+1 on the extractor, I've used one since '99. Not that model but the same idea.

 

Absolutely agree, even if it has springs under it, replacing those can make a difference. A seat with a real suspension will make your back thank you as you can either hobble away from it or walk away. And sooner or later, you WILL hobble away when you get a bit older.

And yes, I took my own advice and sprung for the air ride seat on my new mower. Not cheap but oh so worth it.

 

Pulled the XT3 in the garage and greased it, aired up the tires, lubed all pivots and suspension seat tracks with PTFE and...

 

I do a lot of off camber work with the tractor and I have finally had it with the seat switch. I’m only 135 lbs so when my narrow ass slides any on the seat I kill the engine. Shits getting zip tied. Just needed to vent to people who will understand

 

I completely understand. I'm on the fence half the time if I want to close loop the seat switches on my ZT projects.

Toro has a half assed module that delays the shut off when seat pressure is lessened momentarily.

The module fails pretty often.

When I get one of those units, I delete it.

 

The Kubota is way too sensitive. I can just be leaned to the side opposite of the switch lever and trip it. It’s a HST, too so literally the only way the tractor is going to move when you’re not on it is if the pedal gets stuck…unfortunately it’s one of those things I forget about fixing until right when I get on the tractor haha
