I expect you may see it slow down a bit with some weight in the bucket, but not too much. That's a pretty beefy cylinder for the sort of weight you're likely to have in that bucket.

The other cylinder wasn't too much different with a loaded bucket or empty. It just didn't have any power due to poor angle geometry. I figure this one will make me very happy.

I think mine might be the only one I’ve seen in here...and it’s on jack stands. So...

I considered Massey when I was shopping for my sub compact. Liked the twin hydraulic cylinders for quicker lift and dump, but really, I'm just putzing around my property, so the extra few minutes, and a few gallons more burned diesel over the life of the tractor isn't a huge factor. What is though, is parts availability, and dealer network and support. Up here in Canada, Kubota can't be beat in that regard.

I like the old Ferguson's; does that get me partial credit?

Edit- The GF's dad had a mid-2000's Massey (a 1423, I think?) that really turned me off on the AGCO-era Massey's. Really weak castings; just doing normal tractor work like mowing, moving gravel, etc. he broke the cast steering arm connection on the front axle like 6 times, broke the rear axle housing (and found out that it was such a common problem that the part was sold out nationwide and backordered for 3 months), and had the backhoe pins split their housings at the pivot closest to the tractor.

Thank you , my Dad gave that to me when i bought my first house , he bought it to mow at one of our farms, at the time it matched the 2520 and 4020 we had as far as looks and hood style.
that one you sold looks to be in excellent condition as well . its getting harder and harder to find parts for those classics

I made a set a few years ago. Overall, not a bad little job. Can't find them now, but I know they're around somewhere!

I made mine as well, I work in a machine shop so it was easier but you could make them with a torch for cutting the banjo eye and it wouldn't be bad at all. I also went with 3/8" chain and 3/8" thick steel plate so they wouldn't break.

Short story time- My machine is a '64 MF35 Utility. All original from what I can tell. I don't care much about that, so long as it starts and works when I need it to. Early 2019, one of the original wheel loops finally rotted out after all those years loaded with calcium. I finally got the wheel off, which only sucked because of where the machine was parked. Had the loop swapped out, no calcium this time because I wouldn't have been able to move it. The wheel centers on my machine are cast iron. Removing the wheel meant pulling the 200 lb weight off.

Fast forward a bit, I finally got the wheel back on the machine after 3 months of downtime and a rough period of life (heh, learned a lot, though!) I was dreading getting the cast weight back on so it sat near my basement for about 18 months. Well, I was using the machine over the long weekend and just cannot keep that one wheel planted. Partially because no calcium, partially because no cast weight. Finally got it back on, didn't take long, I just had to think about it for a minute as I work alone. This is the method I came up with, main issue was getting the weight high enough. I can barely lift it onto the jack. Now I gotta get the chains back on this side, load it with windshield washer fluid.

An adult crow costume? I bet that's a sight to see you in that, cruising around on your tractor(s)! Brings a whole new meaning to scarecrow!

About 50 minutes south of Albany, 10 minutes south of Hudson. Small town, Germantown, one traffic light. Ya blink, ya miss it!
