Engine transplant for this one done. Original power was 19hp Kawasaki. Now has a 26 hp Briggs and Stratton ESL. ESL, sure. A single paper air filter.

Oddly enough the donor tractor had an hour meter. 580 hours. Hopefully someone just left the key a few times. The chassis meter on the toro has 619 hours. Close enough for me.

It does sound amazing and just purrs. Gonna use it for a week then peddle it.

I bought a couple of Sears plows a couple of weeks ago for a good price knowing I'd have to adapt them to my Cat 0 3-pt hitch or pull them another way. After my dog failed to be an alternate pull source I figured I'd better fab something up

Fabbed a couple of adapters yesterday. The hardest part was drilling 1/2" pipe out to 5/8"ID so if you have a source for 5/8" ID pipe I'd go that way. All it took was a couple of pieces of 3.75" long 5/8" ID pipe and 2 Cat 0 pins and I had some adapters. I cut the ends off the pins and plug welded them inside the pipe then drilled the pipe so they could pin on the plows without having to permanently modify them.

    I figured you'd notice that.

Tractor was boned out, but the engine was pretty clean. I grabbed it for a steal...I might even make $2 when I take it to the scrap yard.

Turn it into a little go-kart and sell it. Some red neck will go nuts for it

If they want it they can buy it from the scrap yard. The front wheels don't even track straight!

If I put something this hideous in my front yard for sale, I cringe at the freaks that would know my addy!

    Holy piss shivers!

Well, I got the grass cut today and at least the mower cranks better now with a new battery. same problems as before so I had to stand up, give myself the ol reach around and wiggle the seat safety switch wires to get it to shut off before I could get the PTO to engage. still "troubleshooting". at least it only took once this time. :D
And since y’all like pictures, here’s my dusty mower and dirty messy shed. E06392B1-CF59-42EC-B389-A59968D2CB15.jpgE904A0E7-DC56-499F-95E2-08F2344E7694.jpg

John Deere L130. the problem has to be somewhere in the harness with me being able to affect it by wiggling wires. (although it doesnt always work:))

I think this is the wire schematic.

Let's see what you have replaced.Screenshot_20220523-200441.jpg

I was just looking at that. Relays are pretty easy to spot. Can you swap that relay?

I'm sure I could. that's the next thing in line with the seat switch, although its pretty far away for a little wiggle to reach. also, my hood doesn't always sit flush where it should, so would that relay do anything if it wasnt shut? I don't think there's a sensor for the hood being shut.

Dood, apologies because this was a total stalk (not in a creepy way however) post find...

But I have one of those lawn boys, circa 1974 ish, possibly older. Most surprising thing past the fact it still runs perfect, is it has original factory priming bulb...mind blowing

I believe this relay allows you keep the blades running while switching to reverse. If it works, the engine stays running, if it's not working, the engine dies.

It this similar to your symptoms?
