A little thick to thin stuff with the Miller 115V flux core .030 wire feeder. High carbon mower blade to a shank. Shank was beveled and preheated. Weld was vertical top to bottom. Speed was slowed when the wire touched the shank to allow for burn in.

Welds hit with a needle scaler followed by a wire brush

Git Sum!! At 0 lbs of weight this was just a scratcher, at 200lbs I'm ripping 1.5" roots in half and turning up grapefruit sized rocks without a blip. The only badness I can see happening is the shank body breaking where I drilled it. I may put a block in there behind it to support it.

Went back and added a backer block. While I was at it I welded a pipe on the backer to let me hang weight directly on the shank.

Trying to find belts for this.

    Yazoo kees ZT mower.

It has 2 belts for the deck. One belt drives a jack shaft on the deck and the other is for the deck itself.

I can not find the parts diagram for this thing.

    I measured the belts.

    5/8 x 112ish

    5/8 x 138ish

I'm done with hunting today. Someone else wants a challenge, go for it!

Are they toothed? Or just V-belts?

I don't know if mower application belts (clutching) are made in a clogged form.
    I have never seen one.

Over the years I replaced every belt at the old job with a clogged (X in the part number) belt. In addition to running cooler (lasts longer) and giving a better grip they actually use a bit less energy too.

Might want to consider sheering pins. Just my two cents.

I mean your little plastic drive shafts might appreciate some.

When I was a plow boy all our implements had breakaways or kicks or shear pins so that you don’t wreck everything at once.

That is different than a dozer with a ripper blade but I think those still have some planned early point of failure.

Thinking back on what it took to break those barrels in the 3205 I'm amazed I didn't do it sooner. I was pretty indiscriminately yanking a 500lb brushhog around when it was stuck--thru low spots where I got stuck, backed up and sped up to ram it thru lol.

I know I won't shear the barrels with the subsoiler as it is a slow process without any high speed idiot maneuvers like I did with the 3205 but it wouldn't be a bad idea to add shear bolts. Do you have a source for 3/8" x1.5" shear bolts?

I might have a bin from an old snow blower but other than that I’ll need a few more specs. Those usually are specifically for material to material mating. Like 3/16” thick tube wall on a 1/2” shaft. I’ll peak into my parts and reference tables that I can find.

    Damn mice!

    I think they are winning!

    Passing gas is important:

If you don't the gas rises to your brain -- that is where crappy ideas come from.
