Thank you sir. That is part of the upper part of my field and is smoother than the lower but it's still rough as a cob lol. Between the lawn and this field and another area I probably mow 5 acres. This is only cut about once every 6 weeks though. Some of it was 4ft high.

I feel that! It seems like the list of things that need to be done continues to grow faster than things get done. Trying to find a balance between family time and productive time is difficult. One of my biggest struggles.

My kids were watching out the window the whole time. I'd come down the hill and they'd be so excited; "Daddy's back!" Then I go back up and they'd be sad about it.

I had a chance to poke around the Bolens G214 and that unknown box blade.

Broke free and lubed up the 3pt angle leveling adjustment. Tightened up some bolts on the box.

That little tractor is pretty sweet. 12F/4R manual gearbox, 4wd, diff lock, stout frame and driveline... As ugly as it looks, it ran great. My wife was looking at it out the window and said it was a neat little tractor, I need one like that.

I need some front weights. It struggled for traction if I loaded up the box too much. Maybe some beet juice in the tires.

The rippers from TSC worked great.

I think the next step is to work on the grade just a little more and get some material in for a nice surface.

They know all about excavators and tractors and they have their own ear muffs and everything. I took them on a little ride at least.

They know I don't go to work on the weekends and they get lots of time with me. They kept asking "Is it the weekend?" :pout:

I need to head over to my parents one weekend and try to get dad's tractor started. Last weekend I asked him when he had started it last, his reply was "sometime last year." I guess I need to start rounding up oil and filters.

    Next project.

It will be a while. Got to finish the Exmark 1st.

    Quick assessment:

    Will need a throttle cable.

    Will need a battery.PXL_20220712_000258950.jpg PXL_20220712_000452819.jpg PXL_20220712_000311154.jpg

Will need the deck repaired. It cuts fine, but cosmetically it looks like ass.

Will need a serious pressure washing obviously.

I haven't ran it yet to find out if I have to deal with the magnets in the flywheel.

Wanted to take a closer look at the carb. Previous owner told me it ran but had to vice grip the throttle open to use it. I wasn't in love with cranking it over and starting it at full rpms. He said it's been sitting since last year.

Took off the McGyvered filter housing...big surprise...no filter. Whatever, I got it extra cheap.

Low and behold I find this hot mess.

    Whisky tango foxtrot!

How does this even happen?!!! Choke butterfly bent over the wrong way is not a good sign.

Still haven't tried to start it yet.PXL_20220712_013920014.jpg

Well now, that is a new one.

That was probably an $8K machine when new, how do people do things like run without an air filter...

I’ve never bought parts for this tractor, Case 485 possibly 1986 model. Is $70 for an air filter a typical price?
