see.....this thing is superior by hp alone and tow function. mine kicks butt being a bargain price for a poor guy.

 

decide how much work you need done and over buy the chipper. mine will be dead when im done. dr products are great for non comercial use. heavy duty homeowner units. after that you spend thousands. or tens of. im very pleased with mine. simple briggs/stratton motor that runs great trouble free.

 

I have this little guy too, 1972 or so Snapper. It is a shredder not a chipper, does good with hedge trimmings, brush, small tree cuttings, etc. The engine is a 4-5? hp Briggs, runs good but like all recoil start Briggs engines I have had it is an absolute bear to get restarted when hot.

 

DR would work fine for my needs. unless a hurricane rolls through. then I could probably kill it. we have a DR grader for our dirt-ish road. they do make pretty ok products. great for the applications

 

i ran a full size truck box of limbs through this since last pic. got a yard to rake on my trails now.

 

My DR is close to 20 years old, really a simple machine: engine, centrifugal clutch, 2 belts and the chipper assembly.
There are only 2 grease fittings, easy to access, the belt guard and fuel tank are heavy plastic, the rest of the machine is metal.

 

theres aways better right? but for serious home service dr puts out a good product.

 

this was a 1 beer 1 truck load pile. i work fast but im thirsty often.

 

this was 30min run time. for the money these are not a disappoint.

 

Must resist! I have been burning all my little branches and taking the 6” and under ones to the dump for free.

 

same same. ive only got 1 belt. they might know my last name. or they could have included a helmet for lunch time in the sand box.

 

1500$ and its a great excuse to tell her youre being productive. and helping compost. thanks may come another way dude!

 

man i know the start. i bought mine non e start. shit. its a bear if the belt isnt proper.

 

The stump grinder is keeping me busy and that makes enough wood chips for me.

 

i bet. those are expensive and probably rough to run.

 

I bought a cheapo power king one from Home Depot when it was on sale for $1500. It’s a workout for sure but it gets the job done!

i just have a love hate...hate hate with depot. im the guy that spends extra on well made tools. as i shop at that store today....

 

i just came across this because im a homeowner nerd that wishes i had an atv to help out hauling water to my new trees. my tacoma is the opposite. i think...its the fastest in the pacific north west. its very amusing...to me.
