This^^^was some frustrating. I hate adult puzzles like this. Took almost an hour to fish it out. Why the Snowblower kept stalling’. Gotta get ‘er ready…..gettin’ to be mid July already .

    * Least they coulda done was make it magnetic.

From those pictures, that would be a chore with the DR. No front wheels makes that thing a bear. It does have a differential lock on it. It could handle those hills and the brush but .... "a chore", for sure.

I have an old International 140 tractor which naturally came to me not running.

After fixing a bunch of random things mostly caused by 4 decades of previous owners it ran pretty good, except for random stalling...

I found a 2" square of clear cellophane like material in the gas tank that would occasionally end up over the fuel port.

It was just about invisible and I only happened to see when I had a small flashlight in the tank filler.

Yessir. This acted like bad gas but there is no way. At -40 I wasn’t too fussy but when I went to fill up I figured it out right quick & used the Old Toro. What a PIA, never again.

All I care is it's warm and snow free from December to march.

Will be near the FT Mill area for the cold months.

Decided to swap out the high lift blades and put the "mulching" blades and block off plate back on. Some reason my grass don't like those high lift blades, but for a couple months the grass was too thick to mulch. Checked oil, blew out the pre-filter, and greased the wheels and steering "arms"

Mowed the grass, trimmed, and blew it off. It sat for a little bit in front of the garage. Went to start it up to put it back in the shed it was stumbling pretty bad. Oh, what in the heck! Small teardown proceeded...

Pulled a spark plug wire off one at a time to see if it was a dead cylinder, nope. Pulled the engine cover completely and there was no mice damage. Pulled the sparkolators and they looked good. Pulled the fuel hose off and cranked it to make sure the fuel pump was working; it was. Tried to take the carb bowl off, but didn't have a wrench skinny enough to get the shut-off solenoid off. Clouds were rolling in and I was getting pissed off. Put everything back together and went to start it and it ran completely normal. Now what the heck!? So, I did notice while cranking that it got to one of the compression strokes and kinda struggled. I need to pull the valve covers off and check what's going on there, but I can't find my ultra black Permatex to re-seal the covers (I'm too cheep to buy the correct gasket...). Another day... The bitch of it is this engine only has 33 hours on it! Maybe some crap got in the carb and it worked its way through. I don't know. I'll see what it runs like next week...

But to add something to the slight fuel discussion. I have a spare junky Troy Built gas blower. Ever since I bought my Echo it hasn't been run since I want to say September 2020? Well the last fuel I put in it was the Husqvarna or VP Racing canned fuel (guessing by the color, both are blue). Would you believe it, it fired on the first pull and ran! o_O Guess I'll grab a quart of that to store my stuff for the winter!

I think there is like a 3 year engine warranty, but good luck getting anywhere with that. I'd have to transport the mower to a Cub dealer, which I'll have to rent a trailer there and back. Yea, I'll just dick with it myself...

Tecumseh, I've never been a fan. A friend of mine who worked on welders and small engines told me years ago it stood for "to come see me" when it won't crank
