Look in the manual, page 133, it doesn't appear to have ignition points.
There is a pickup coil and ignitor listed as well as a part number for the complete distributor.

Mower would not start today at all. Full procedure check fuel and spark all good. Mower turns over fast and sounds like it’s not getting fuel, but also like the spark plug is out. So… I open up the valve cover… yup the rocker arm is clearly cracked. Here’s a bad picture of it.

Hello everyone, hopefully this is the right thread to post this in….

Does anyone know about water softeners?

I’ve just moved into this home (renting) and there’s a water softener system that is producing salty water (taste) and incredibly soft water (too soft imo)

I have checked the brine valve and that is clear, the water fill hose (for the barrel) is clear, the waste pipe is also clear.

I have just run a manual regen and these are the times showing so far:
    8 min - Fill
    280 min - Softening
8 min - Back wash - good pressure and water movement through clear hose to wall - waste exhaust is in laundry room 30ft away
    60 min - Brine DN
    8 min - 2nd backwash
    6 min - Rinse
    Total time elapsed 6hrs 9min.

Looking through the menu the hardness is set at 20 (whatever that means).

    Questions:
    1. Does a 280 minute regen seem excessive. (online regen info varies from 30-100 min)
    2. Is 20 hardness a high or low number
    3. Do I try trial and error and back off the hardness by 5? Does this adjust the regen and rinse time or do I set those manually.
    4. How do I extend the 2nd backwash and rinse to run longer.

Any help would be appreciated I am a newb to water softeners and the user guide I’ve found is pretty basic and useless tbh…

    TIA

No luck in the Lexus, so hopefully the repellent spray worked. 3 for 3 in the shop and the traps were only in there overnight.

We had rodents eat some wiring in our old Lexus, a huge PIA. Ended up zip tying bits of fabric soaked in peppermint oil around the engine bay and other various places, worked a treat.

Luckily no wires have been chewed yet(that I know of) we started spraying this stuff once a week inside the vehicles and in the engine bays and it seems to be working.

Tasty salty because it is using water thru the brine soak. See if it has a rapid rinse. What should happen system will soften water with the resin, resin need to be cleaned salt water then wash then back in service. The system should do this at early morning 1 am so no one is drinking it. Just bought a new one and had a crash course , good luck

Thanks for the response. So yes it’s set to start at 2am but the whole process takes over 6 hours!

From what I understand you should not be able to taste the salt (ours is strong) after the regeneration has completed.

Yes it rinses but only for 6 minutes.

How long does your salt soak once it fills?

60 min brine wash with a 20 min rapid rinse and 10 min brine fill. That is way to long 6 hr is crazy

My salt barrel sits with about 6” of brine in the bottom, I think where the system is messed up is where the barrel completely fills and the sits there for 280 minutes. I’m thinking it should fill, sit there for 10 minutes then de ionize the beads..

In between regens does your salt barrel sit full of water?

if this is in fact an interior pic of a vehicle i have a suggestion. mechanic i know of reccomends black ice x-mas tree air fresheners to repell rodents. think they smell horrible myself. i put one in engine bays to keep them discouraged.

This is not the answer you are looking for as I have no direct knowledge of water treatment equipment. But as a tenant your landlord should be fixing that problem. Did you try to contact the landlord?

Pretty much family so we’re getting the family rate. I love to know how things work so… but yeah if I can’t find out how to program the controller I’ll have to call someone in.

I’ll get some test strips and see what they show…. I’m pretty picky about drinking water, ie I like good tasting water.

I don't know a whole lot about your system, but it looks like your brine tank needs a good cleaning. Water looks like possible iron contamination as well. They make iron fighter pellets that help with this.

Just went through this with mine. Used solar salt based on a recommendation and it all went to Hell.

Went to the iron fighter pellets and noticed water quality was better. Also noticed water pressure starting to slowly increase. My water softener is 22 year old, so at the end of its life span.
