Very excited to do this one as I really am excited to use it. My grandma died last fall and I got her never used genny and was going to take the 10 hp motor from it to transplant to the flail as it has a 10 hp motor as well.

Rolled it into my garage expecting a fight due to its 28 year old motor. I took the belt off and hit it with some starting fluid and it fired right up... WTF lol. Worst issue was the carb linkage was stuck. I had to spray it with some carb cleaner and that was it?

Belt, bearings and roller all look good. Knives need sharpened badly, but none are bent or missing...

I'm going to look for some heavier knives, but I may just run it as is and see how it goes since knives are expensive and I have 40 sets of them. Bush Hog has no memory of making this thing so support for it is non-existent.

I got a smoking deal on this thing and can't believe my luck with it so far.

Ultimate plan for it is to make a front mount for my Pioneer 700 and front mount this thing so I can run up to stuff as opposed to dragging it around. Be very nice to bomb through briars chopping away. Going to use the winch to raise it over stuff when need be and probably make/buy some gage wheels for the flail so I don't have to carry all the weight on my SxS front end.

    ok its concrete question time!

getting ready to demo my front porch & redo it (different story).

want to know from any of you who know:

how much does typical 4" thick poured concrete weigh per sqft when its dry?

wanting to cut this up into pieces as big as my FEL can handle to use as walkways/bridges over my culverts & ditches.

    lets have some input!

    thansk!

No clue on exact weight but can tell you we just cut up an old patio. Our kioti CK2610 with the KL4030 loader bucket was able to handle (2) 5' x 2' x 4-6" thick pieces at a time. Probably could have done more but thats all that really fit in the bucket safely

If it's not obvious, divide by 3 to get your weight for 4 in thick. You should come out with 50 lb.

Got the deck back from the sand blaster.

Time to patch some thin spots.

After patches welded on painted on some primer.

great! im on a Kioti 4010. will be using the forks instead of the bucket. know it lifts dumps a little over a ton of sand/gravel in the bucket with no problem, just wasnt sure what kind of weight was in the concrete after it dried.

DES: thanks for the numbers! my google fu just kept giving me wet weights or it depends on how heavy the aggregate is.

so about 50lbs per sqft. that would be awesome! should put me able to handle a 6'x6' with no problem! that would make nice crossovers!

I searched "cured concrete weight per cubic foot". I think the key word to get you the answer you want is "cured". :)

I'm not understanding " the smiling part" of your response. I know it's a positive response, but I'm not bright enough to know what you mean.

    Last year was $50. I volunteered $75.

I gave the yard man/blaster operator $20 and my card to see if it could " accidently" slip closer to the front of the line.

Got a call 4 hrs later to tell me the deck can be picked up.

$5 left over for me grab a couple Tall Bois.

No grinding, no numb hands from running the wire cup, no headache from running the needle scaler. No black boogers even with a mask.

I can see exactly we're the weak spots are for welding up patches.

    I think it's a very well spent $100.

Wait until I do the next one. Same deck, but way more rust thru. Gonna be a fabrication nightmare.

Only large sandblasting job I had done was a stove top needing re-finishing. Guy boogered it! It came back warped out of shape. I suspected too intense blasting/heating of the metal. Ended up buying a new stove. win win

yeah if you can get someone who does a nice bead blast or knows to work his way in with the sand/silica..... its money ahead for the user & the shop.

user because he doesnt have to eat all the dust or discs & the shop cause they already pay the guy to be in the hood & have the stuff.

be sure to rustbond that thing on the bottom & then grass wont ever stick to it again. :)
