Wonder why it’s so hard? I am glad I didn’t get electric start on my stump grinder with a 14hp Kohler engine. Thing fires right up first pull every time.

with a chipper you are pulling engine AND massive flywheel. its like a mazda rotary. if it isnst spinning fast its not going to light. i didnt have the belt tight enough and after a few beers did it left handed now have a torn rotator cuff. im ruined without surgery now. oops
it really takes hulk strength to start it. its in a good state of tune but its still tough. if it doesnt light on try 3 im not likely to get it.think the flywheel is 20lbs. its tough to spin.

Works great, as long as your drill battery is charged. Nothing moisty about it, I’m a 39yr old, relatively in shape dude and I get tired of pulling these things over when messing with them.

Work smarter, not harder. Save the hard for when it’s needed.

you sound like construction was a trade. or motorcycles as hobby. owch, you have a batch of body repairs. your carfax report sounds tough. i bet you have enough spirit for another 100k.
ive got 2 ruined knees, scoliosis, bad back, arthritis body wide, and genetic vision loss. im going to go crack another beer, smoke a fatty, and light the chipper up to stay young and spry.

I’ve got nothing against hard work, I watched my dad work his hands to the bone for my entire childhood. I also watched as he developed easier ways to do the same job with less physical effort. That part caught my eye, and he made sure us kids figured it out for ourselves, just earlier in life.

Thinking outside the box is one of my favorite things to do, sometimes the hardest part is getting out of the box in the first place.

Works great. This worked for a year after fixing the pull start twice.

the other bad thing that sometimes happens is the bolt breaks off in the shaft..... then you gotta drill & clean out & that takes forever ... or at that point you throw it out & get another motor. :-0

im with you guys on the broken down from every direction. neck, back, rt shoulder, L4-L5 busted disc, enlarged heart valve(leaking), IBS, GERD, high BP, Barrets Esophagus & Pancreatitis....

most of this stuff is from being a economy size guy outworking big guys all my life, the rest is from being a stupid young guy who never planned on living past 35.

now 55 & not many good parts left. still living the dream every day though= because my bulldogs love me & my kids are good productive adults.
