I overnight in northern Cincinnati in my way down to Charlotte.

If there was some way to get this to West Chester township, I could find a way to drop it off near Ashville.

Dragging a 5th wheel camper, I have lots of gas stops.

My family in Cincinnati is used to my wheeling and dealing, so a roll bar sitting for a bit is not gonna crimp their style.

i just got this with my farm quad. iron eagle 6.5x10 havent even used it. got it for 1k and new is 3k+ . forget the retard in the pic. as i dunno nor care to eliminate my mug from things. i waited 37 years to have this toy. been a jaw dropping beast thus far.

 

I'll get something worked out with @Tiedie. WC is about a 4 hour round trip for me, but definitely doable.

 

Notice the exhaust on this Courage engine. I hangs lower than the bottom of the base of the engine. I know, poor pic, but take my word for it.

The Kohler Command engine exhaust discharges perfectly horizontal and does not contact the chassis base.

I thought that these 2 different engines would have different exhaust discharge dimensions.

Turns out, they are identical.

I did not need to do any fabrication of the exhaust.

The Kohler Command and the the Kohler Courage have the exact block specifications. I'm very happy to accidently find that out.

In short, the original Kohler Command Exhaust bolts in perfectly on a Kohler Courage engine.

Congrats man. I mean that seriously. I have terrible luck trying to seed grass so I am very jealous. I get it to start, then nothing lol.

 

The Kohler Courage engine does not have a low oil shutdown sending unit.

The Kohler Command engines do.

I was looking over this donor engine and I found some things that make think...

Looking at the wire harness, I was puzzled to see a connector zip tied out of the way.

I also noticed an Allen head plug in the area of the oil filter assembly.

My assumption is that " low oil shutdown" is an option.

I'm hoping to install an oil sending unit from a Kohler Command engine will make this a low oil shutdown engine.

All most all small engines low oil level sending units will ground out the coils if the oil level or pressure falls, thus killing the spark to the plugs.

I hope installing a sending unit makes this a robust unit.

We will see...

Wow thanks, that would work out great I would be happy and able to meet up cause you might just drive by me. But I'd be willing to do a little bit of driving. I'm close to I-81 and I-40 also I-26. Heck I could zip over to I-77.

depending on how selective you are with grass there are good options. i accidentally bought some at wally world that had 50% clover. took off like crazy, looks great, and really brought in the good bees for our gardens.

 

yeah man a 6x12 would be perfect as long as it can do 10k gvwr.
tractor weighs about 6k, excavator is just over 6k. mini truck is only about 1800lbs, mower is 1600lbs... so gotta at least have 5200lb axles to cover trailer weight & load.

 

Got the Kohler Courage bolted and wired in.

Was having a fuel delivery issue.

I was sure the fuel shut off solinoid was stuck closed.

Removed the carb and cleaned it up.

She now purrs! I'm also happy that it will start without the choke when the engine is warm.

 

Went to the Biltmore estate today and did some walking.

Yep takes 45 minutes to get there, but having a season pass gets us access to the grounds and the house. In the fall thru spring we hike the grounds with the K9. When snakes season hits we stop.
