and no wood needed for the fireplace in the living room.

she wanted one in there for her birthday & because she is incredibly spoiled.... i made it happen. it was some work to do it in lone ranger mode, but its done. ran the lines, converted it from gas to LP... added a blower.

wow it will run you out of this room in a couple minutes on low!!PXL_20231114_192412057~2.jpg

my dogs hate the real fireplace. when i clank that flu open..... they go in full on attack mode.

& anytime i go to put wood in? holy crap. Poppy goes full on apeshit crazy. she bites the doors, tries to bite the wood.
it gets flat out dangerous trying to hold her back & load the thing up.
usually put her in the crate first, but sometimes you forget.

got some more outside cleaning done in the shop & then did a little painting on the hydraulic cylinders on the mini X.

they just looked like they need painted & the machine is a 2007 model.
just did the 3 on the boom, didnt do the blade cylinder or the boom swing cylinder (which is up inside the body)

still want a Cat 302.7d CR..... but they pricey!!
would settle for a Kubota U25 too!

    thanks!

only did those 3 cylinders & decided if there is a rebuild on the other 2 that will do them then cause they hard to get to.
no need to take it apart until theres a problem.

the green color on this Yanmar was something they used overseas. so this is a "gray market" machine.
good news there is Yanmar made zero differences in the machines as far as mechanic/parts & so on.
it was only safety stuff, killswitches & things like that. havent found any parts that dont interchange with the yellow colored ones that were here in america in 2007.

this machine only had 18oo ish hrs on it when i got it, but had a leak & the gauge problem we talked about before here.
fixed that leak, but man it was in a really difficult place. then spent several days cleaning under carriage, inside the cradles, engine compartment & everywhere else that was gunked up. its fairly clean now. cleaned out the fuel tank & sanitized it, did all the filters, fluids & so on. dug a small pond with it here at our place. helped my neighbor take his pond out with it, dug some drainage ditches for another neighbor, did some drainage of my own, dug up couple dozen tree stumps just for practice.

always loved playing on these things & thats all im capable of is playing. NOT an operator or even skilled at its use ..... but will keep trying to improve.

someone mentioned that John deeres have this motor a lot.... YUP lots of your smaller JD's have this exact everything.
think that once they get bigger sizes that they switch to Perkins motors though.

but i really want that CAT!! had a deal on one & it went south. still looking & might trade around if the right deal comes up.
cant complain though as this Yanny purrs like a kitten & is doing whatever i ask of it.

did i mention that i really want that CAT 302.7d CR? LMAO

IMO those Yanmars are just as good as Cats. And cheaper to maintain! That being said I have always been a Cat guy. I suppose because my dad was too. I bought a gray market Cat 306d at auction earlier this year and after getter her fixed up I realized that I had way too much equity in it so I flipped it for a nice profit. Currently looking for a deal on a 305. Once you've owned an excavator its hard to live without one.
