Yep, as long as they clean that deck, it will last a long time.

I honestly think leaving matted grass on top is worse than not cleaning the bottom side.

i do this same thing with each use. thumbs up!

we keep 5 cords under tarp for the "just in case" thing. thats what it typically took for my parents to go thru a winter, so its just what we always did & do at our house.

OWB, two stoves for a large log home .

We keep the temps inside during the cold days between 73-78 degrees

Typical burning season is 5 1/2 to 6 months, OWB starts in mid Oct.

Looking forward to downsizing with one large stove when we build our retirement home next year in No. Idaho.
And of course looking forward to getting the heck out of Illinois.

Well started the maintance on my little JD lawn tractor today. Haven't been able to get it all done in 2 years cause of the back. Pulled the deck off scraped it out and cleaned it up and put on a new belt, greased spindles lube pivot points. Took front wheels off wiped off old grease and put the steering up grade bearings on to see if they actually make a differance. Greased everything and changed the oil and filters. Going back out tomorrow to put deck back on ran out of steam and back started acting up.:(

Went to take the mowing deck off my x500 tonight in preparation for putting the blower on for the winter. Usually it's a two minute job, but the spring locks in the back had a ton of tension on them. I got it out and noticed the front lift arm trunnions have this wear on them. I'm not seeing anything on the rear arms that looks too concerning - maybe a little wear on the lift links in the rear too, but it's hard to tell for sure without disassembling them.

The lift links plus the trunnions aren't very expensive and I can just replace them all next year if they are known to wear and are the cause of the issue. But I'm wondering if there's some other cause I'm missing. Anyone see this before?

If I’m understanding what part this is, your float wheels are adjusted too low and are in contact all the time.

This is the front hangar for the deck. I double-checked the wheels and I don't think that's the case, unfortunately. They're at the second highest setting and when set to a normal cutting height, they're around a 1/2 inch off the ground.

We are looking forward to getting back to the mountains after many years of being flat-landers

    Site prep begins next year

Going to need to shop for a snow blower capable of dealing with 5 + feet of snow each year. I have read that tracked blowers are the best. Any ideas on this?

I like my track drive Honda. It will chuck snow over the house.

Be aware, they are impossible to move when not running. It is a Honda, so it always runs.

The JD is staying in Illinois., don't want to go this route again; just too much stuff/equipment
The main road is cleared via contractor

So need something capable of clearing 3-4 tenths of a mile of driveway with various elevations

May just get the road contractor to give it a going over when there are 1 ft plus snows.
