Horse mat out around the fence edge she will stand at all the time may be a better idea & then you can chip the rest. Horse mat is fairly cheap.

LOL see? You are already headed towards 2! I do like the mini donkey's though & if was gonna have something more useless than these bullydogs.... It would be one of those. :)

Thanks & don't want it to look like I was downing horse owners intentionally.
We all pick our "addictions".... I gave up booze, bars, cars, women, fighting & raising hell 24/7 for wife, kids, bulldogs, guns & equipment.

All kidding aside: you DO need a tractor now. Even if its just a small one with a front lift.
Cleaning the pen & putting up hay are real easy with a tiny tractor!
Or at least that little tracked mini stand on track thingy the fella has in this thread.

My wife wants a mini cow. Don’t know what our next animal will be. Wife has fallen in love with the barn cats. They still hate me.

Took care of the shop in the first couple of weeks. Still have mice in the engine bays of vehicles. The cats have killed 2 birds that we are aware of so far. It nice having the cats around for sure. They were trying to get grasshoppers the other night.

Lmao.... Wife has 4 cats here at the house..... STILL found a mouse in the basement.

They are too spoiled/lazy to even kill a mouse.
Let them outside & they kill chipmunks, birds, frogs, shrews.. even a baby rabbit.

Inside? Nada a mouse can run right by them & they be like: eh whatever.

Sounds about right. These two boys are the laziest cats during the day, all they do is sleep. They are out and about at dusk and dawn doing their thing.

Can't like this. Too much effort to mow my 3 yards. Not enough energy needed to work such torture tools.:annoyed:

Dogs demanded that I cut the grass around the house for them to pee..... got out there & man it had to be done everywhere that could be done. Only hung it up twice.

Now gotta get back to work on the porch project & some electrical stuff in the shop.

I've got 5 cats, they are all indoor/outdoor animals. The only mouse issues I've had are from those cats bringing in still-alive critters to play with and letting them get away. My dog is a pretty good mouser and she saved me from just such an issue last week. When Tux brought a still very alive mouse into the house and lost it behind a bookcase.:( Gracie saved the day by chasing the mouse back outside.

Funny, my dog prefers to do her business wherever the grass is the tallest.

Yes this is nitpicking but the correct way to say that is fertilizer with Dimension, like 14-0-14 w/Dimension. "Fertilizer" means nutrients, Dimension is a herbicide for grassy weeds (crabgrass). If you have a lot of shade Dimension is most likely not needed as grassy weeds are not a problem in such areas.

If you have an enclosed area, like an invisible fence, and the dogs have room, they will shit in a certain area. It's like they know they don't want to be walking in their own shit.

Dang it, I had them words swapped. What I meant to say is... I put down that stuff that them there people at the grass store said was good and that grass is looking more better.

Well "them there" people might just be more concerned with their bottom line than your best interest. You feed the grass so yes, it's going to look better. If you are happy that's all that matters. I've been a golf course superintendent for 30+ years so grass is something dear to my heart.

WOW! Our 2 female dogs.... if the grass hits em in the cooter when they squat to pee..... they refuse. Soooo that means once grass mowing season is on.... It's on.

Now on the cats? Same here. 2 female/2male all fixed, indoor/outdoor. But we do have a catio for them that they can go out into anytime they want. Free roaming outside is only for the 2 older killer cats.

    Update on the project:
The porch is one of those long term things. We DID save the concrete with the beams & so on. Today I laid out the cross supports in my head so that it doesn't move if we get a tremor. It's way over supported vertically, now gonna put a couple rods thru from beam to beam so that it cant ever shift for/aft..... Then also gonna put a couple thru the back beam & into the inside of the basement inbetween the I beams in there so that it also can move as a whole unit.

Still gotta dig out the basement wall on either end of the porch & relieve the pressure on that wall.... Probably be next month before I get to that at this pace.

Today had to mow all the grass, then moved 15 tons of the pea gravel over to one end of nonpond.
Then got on the phone with Tony & had him walk me thru some electric install out in the shop.

Also got some more steel ordered from my steel guy & that should be ready for pick up tomorrow as well.

Gonna rain every friggin day & still got at least another 40-50 tons of pea gravel to move. That might have to wait till summer to get it off the driveway.

Oh & she wants deer cages around all the new fruit trees, gotta make those & get those installed as well.

    Living the dream everyday!
