I picked up a 1800 RPM Centrifugal clutch for my flail, the back with the springs is open. On other flails with a similar clutch, there is a a backing plate I assume is for keeping debris out. I have 0 experience with a clutch.

Should the back be sealed and if so how?

    So started mowing at 730am....

NO there is not a picture, but this description should give you a good enough idea.

Long pants & shirt, axils in ear, cans on over ears, full face negative pressure respirator on face, yellow "bro rag" on head.... Zipping around at 15mph on the ZXT....

Looked like an outer space cowboy riding a fast yellow bull thru the dust. LMAO

Fortunately for me that no one can see me in my yard unless I'm down in that one corner by the driveway entrance. Other than that, totally surrounded by a wall of heavy woods.

Good thing cause that would have got some looks & shown up on the net for sure.

My lungs & eyes are happy about it, but my neck is tired & sore.

If you need to clear land, and have a bit of cash laying around, I rented this Mulcher the other weekend and cleared about 1.5 acres of dree debris, and standing dead, and undergrowth while chillin in AC.

    upload_2024-6-21_12-23-8.png

Left side here was a wall of trees, branches, undergrowth and BS.

    upload_2024-6-21_12-24-1.png

This section was full - looked like the back of it, but entirely covering the front, too.

    upload_2024-6-21_12-25-8.png

    Same with this part

    upload_2024-6-21_12-26-1.png

I will pick up a compact/subcompact tractor and bucket to kind of finish-up with a chainsaw, ropes, etc. I could have spent more time turning more of the fallen wood into mulch but I had to make choices; 8hrs rental.

If you get a mulcher you might enjoy it. It's expensive; least-expensive place I found was $1400 for 8hrs, delivery/pick-up included + diesel and decent cleaning required. But the machine just worked. Within a couple hours I was getting proficient. By the time I was finished I was solid

I think it's been shown to effectively treat low-T in men over 45 years old. :)

That doesn't have to be the case. On the course we use a product called Surflan. It is a combination of two pre-emergent weed control products and will stop the emergence of any weeds for up to a whole season depending on the rate you use. Granted this is only available on a golf course but you can get products for residential use that will do the same thing.

NOOB question...I have a Stihl MS180. General home use...felling small trees, cutting firewood or the occasional large limb from my neighbor's unmaintained trees that land in my yard. I've love to buy a bit larger/more powerful saw, but I think that's more of a want than a need. Are there any easy/inexpensive upgrades I can do to this saw to get better performance? I love the saw, but if there's something I can do easy/cheap to make it better, I'm game.

That's not a bad price. Here its 1000 for 8 hrs, 100 for every hour over & then 250 in & out.
So 1500 is the cheapest you would get .... Super fun though. Love a good forestry mulcher.

    Hell yes!

Not much really...just keep couple extra chains. If you dont know theres color code on them green- general use. Yellow- faster cut red-fastess cut. I use yellow. It does make it kick a little more but you will notice it cuts better. And keep the chain sharp and out of the dirt.
