know KODitten works on these all the time & knows the stuff..... & Can make them work.

But as a longtime Hustler owner? those Kohler's just aggravated the crap out of me & my solution was always the same: changed to a different motor. Used Honda(24hp) & Kawasaki's (35, 37hp) on mine. That for sure fixed the problem. :)

Then came the 40hp EFI big block Vanguard.... A whole new ball game!

Those vanguards are the real deal!

Just not enough out there for me to find the engines cheap.

I’ve always liked Kohler, my welder has one on it. My other hustler has a Kawasaki on it, leaking oil from somewhere. I’ve heard they were bad about that though.

I got the number off of my SAM and did a search, no longer available so I ordered 2 coils to do away with it. They will be here Friday.

I've never messed with or heard of a SAM unit on a small engine and I appreciate your help.

With everything I've read about it, it makes sense with what my engine is doing after everything I've replaced and it isn't running any better.

Best $500 I ever spent and a hell of a lot of fun adding to it's functionality.

Had a willow come down the other day across the state hwy. As I was leaving I noticed it looked like it was leaning really hard. As I went by the voting house the state guys were there with a back hoe. Wife calls me a said that tree across the road came down and it's blocking the hwy. Neighbor sees the state guys and tells them about it. So they got it cleaned up and tossed out of the way. Then went up the road where they were originally going.

Gas or electric? Electric good find, gas, only time will tell. Obviously that engine isn't water cooled. As a golf cart it's meant to be driven in between shots so heat doesn't build up. Problems can arise when they are driven over longer distances, especially if you are putting around.

Had one third of a large oak tree come down across my driveway a week ago. This was a large tree growing in 3 directions from the bottom of the trunk. Of course the part that decided to give up the ghost was the part over my driveway :annoyed: We couldn't come or go for about 4 hours until the tree people finished up with it. This was much too big and heavy for me and a buddy to try to handle.. plus it wasn't laying flat on the ground. Too much chance for things to go sideways..
But now I have a fresh load of crushed limestone and I'm learning how to spread it. The large skid steer they used to clear the tree took its toll . . .
