I guess if you had no other way you could hook a drag harrow under your bucket, I’m taking it to the farm tomorrow to start working on a deer food plot. It’s the only way I can get it on the trailer and be able to get it off.

Got the miniature disc finished today. Added it to the miniature collection of things I’ve made over the past couple years.

Still refurbishing the Cub 3205. I cleaned up my wheels and painted them with Van Sickle Int'l White from Orshelin's. Really good paint and better than TSC Majic. Unfortunately VS doesn't make Cub yellow.

Mounted the 26x10-12 Rip Saws I picked up which measured out to 24" tall after aired up. Squarest shouldered tires I've ever seen.

I bought 1" long bronze bushings from Grainger for the front spindles. The factory ones are 3/4" long so these will grab clean spindle and mitigate the wear. Also bought some thrust bearings and washers to do the "poor man's power steering mod". The 1" bushings I ordered have 1/8" flanges vs the factory 3/16" to allow for the thrust bearing mod w/o having a height difference. Froze the bushings to shrink them down for easy install. It has power steering but I just wanted it to steer really easy lol.

Started on food plot today, I always watch my temp gauge when bush hogging and here’s why. I cut the field twice, needs at least one more time. Trying to beat the rain coming.

Found this old tire pump from the 1950’s at a tractor show a while back. It goes on the PTO shaft and the chain hooks to the drawbar to keep it from spinning.

This hydraulic top link is nice. Just jacked the cut away back and got it sitting good on the trailer, from a simple handle

Got our food plot in, used the 140 with this little spreader. That’s 150 lbs of fertilizer in it, I’m assuming it’ll hold 250.

Bought this used Draper head earlier this year. Had some hydraulic issues... the center Draper wouldn’t run worried me to death for months. Finally figured it out and now I’m beyond excited to run it. First time I’ve really ever been around drapes we’ve only ever had auger heads.

My FIL called me the other day and said he knew a widow who was getting rid of her husband's stuff and was going to trash a Lincoln welder. He had told her it was "no good". I got it for free.

It had a 3 angle blade dryer cord spliced on the factory cord with white black and green hooked, red snipped. I got the proper 2 blade and D ground end, took the back off it to make sure red was snipped and wired in the correct plug leaving the spliced cord off.

I only had 115V in my garage so I put in a double 50A breaker to give me 230V and ran an 8AWG wire straight down the wall and put a surface mount 230V receptacle 12" up from the floor so I didn't waste welder cord length going up the wall. Got her hooked up, put a 7018AC rod in the stinger and 150A on the welder and ran a bead smooth as buttah' on the first strike

I was going to work on my brush hog hitch today, lifted it up and put the front of the hog on a jackstand to let me the the hitch down. It flopped way down to the floor.

Looked and both sides of the drawbar are cracked. I never noticed it before because the hitch always has upward pressure on it which kept the cracks closed. Time to fire up the new welder.

Ran some 7018AC and 6013. First stick welds since 2009. This hitch has been discontinued by Swisher for being trash. It is flimsy and flexes and twists. I chained it under tension to keep it from bending upward 8" like it has every time I've used it. If it breaks again I'll completely rebuild it.

The Tombstone is a great welder for the home gamer shop, you heard the cooling fan when it powered up ( I hope) keep an ear out for it when using it, the one I had the fan blade came off the motor shaft. My dad happened to hear something inside the box while was being used, then noticed he didn’t hear the fan, opened it up and the blade just laying there. It got epoxied back on.

I pulled the back off of it to verify the wiring. Ran a bead with the back off and the fan kicked right in. This thing runs as good as any of the big AC/DC Hobart units I used to weld on when I worked in truck and trailer shops. I'm surprised that an AC unit runs so well .

I learned to weld from my dad at 10 years old with that exact same welder in 1985. He still has it and uses it. I had one for many years and sold it last year. Haven’t used it since buying a Miller Bobcat many years ago and made a man very happy by selling it to him

You hear a lot of bad about AC only units. I expected it to be a PITA to weld with. I was pleasantly surprised when I struck the first arc with it.

I've been using my FIL's Miller 130XP for a couple years. He pretty much gave it to me cuz he couldn't weld well with it--bad eyes and hands.

It was really lacking in heat range when I built my loader. I ended up doing a lot of beveling and pre-heating with multi-passes to get it welded right. This thing will burn in deep when needed and I'm happy to have it.

@six5creed Thanks for the invite. This is the old Ford we trim and mow around the cabin when the grass gets high early in the season. We don't make hay mowing the fields with the JD, lots of weeds and poison ivy mixed in. We were in a Grasslands program with the government that just expired last year. Were only permitted to mow one time a year in August. Turkeys were normally all out of grass by that time.

I have that same old welder too. I admit, I'm not much of a welder.:anonymous:It's not always pretty but it's gonna hold. I need practice. Daddy got it some time in the 70's. It still works fine. Do they make stuff like that anymore??

It is amazing that there is a product that you can buy once in your lifetime and pass it on to the next generation to use.
