The original had of gone in, the replacement should too, I'd think.

I think I'll order a couple in case I screw one up.

On my former trailer I used 2 different d rings, 4 of these little ones on each sides for strapping bulk items down over the top https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-1...VT01HAR0iiBMPEAQYASABEgK2j_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

And I put one of these larger ones in each corner for securing larger items such as riding mower, motorcycle https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-2...VT01HAR0iiBMPEAQYCCABEgLkafD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Get you some D rings, they make bolt on or weld on. Up to you really, use grade 8 bolts if you bolt them

Personally I’d weld them, but ima welder :anonymous:

Id make my own and weld them on as well, but if you don't have a welder, these work great.

B2601 is a great yard machine!
Way better than a B series.
    Stronger than the 7200.

    Great tractor!

Looks like I can mount the bigger ones on the front vertical corners. There is 2” of space. Along the frame rail there is only 1 1/2” of space.

That would be a tight fit but I think it would work. What I did was bolt my 4 larger D rings into the wooden floor boards. I do very much like the E track that @koditten shared since its so low profile. I remember a motorcycle shop i worked at for a short while had a sprinter van customized to haul 4-5 motorcycles had E track rails spaced every 2 feet or so and it was wonderfully easy securing the bikes.

I have E track in my inclosed trailer for motorcycles and it’s great! Don’t think E track would be a good idea for this utility trailer since it will see dirt and a lot of stuff that could get in the E track.

I would strongly suggest mounting any and all d rings to the trailer frame on the outside floor. Maybe some brackets for light loads on the uprights.

So it's getting that time of year where I throw on the mulching attachment and blades. I bought the factory mulching kit a couple years ago for my CubCadet to take care of the leaves since I'm too lazy to rake them. I got two Norway Maples that are the bane of my existence.

Anyways, the blade that come in that kit are "meh" at best. These apparently get good reviews and I've had good luck with the same brands deck spindles, despite being made in China.

Supposed to arrive this week so I guess I'll throw them on and see how they do!

If those don't work good I highly recommend gater g5 mulching blades

Yea, I have an odd size deck so those seem to be really expensive. I'm betting anything is better than the ones that came in the mulching kit

Gator blades are designed to run without a mulch kit but there are those who use them with mulch kits and run it like that. I use the heavier duty G6 Gator blades and they seem to do a decent job with clippings. They don’t eliminate them but cut them up short genetically smaller than an OEM blade would. If I’m persistent, I will run over an area of leaves enough to mulch them into the ground. This is not ideal though, seeing how my maples are acidic in nature and will alter the PH of my ground making me a se more lime annually. I had recently picked up a lawn sweeper for this and so far it’s doing a good job
upload_2024-9-16_6-2-0.jpgUsing the discharge and the gator blades concentrates the sweepings and less trips to the mulch pile.

I also got a sharpener and balancer for my blades. My brother ordered one on Amazon and they sent him 2 so he gave me one. I then ordered a balancer and some flap discs. Finally after all were n my posession I gave it a go yesterday. I mounted the sharpener jig to a 4x4 and put it in the bench vice
upload_2024-9-16_6-7-6.jpgTook a lot of meat off to achieve a 30* angle seeing how my freehand grinding was around 40. All 3 blades came out decent and balanced well.
upload_2024-9-16_6-9-16.jpgupload_2024-9-16_6-9-56.jpgThe proper angle and sharpness of your blades will help significantly cut up your trimmings.

One more tip if you get the gator blades is to sharpen them right out of the package. They come with paint/powder coat on the cutting edge and it needs to be ground off for a sharp cut

How thick/heavy are the G6 blades, is your John Deere a homeowner or commercial unit? I used G3 on my toro 30 inch timemaster and G5 on my homeowner grade dixon 42 inch ZT. My understanding was that G6 are more oriented to heavy duty commercial ZT.

The G6 is a commercial heavy duty version of the G5 you see on zero turns and gt’s. It’s wider and thicker than my OEM blades on the 60D deck. Although the diesel has no problems with running these blades, it grunts at spin up when I engage the PTO so the G6’s are heavy. I’d limit gas motor units to the G5

I'm looking to order a set of the G6 blades but I'm having a hell of a time figuring out which P/N I need. I have a AutoConnect 60D with 21" blades. The manual is absolutely useless, do you know the arbor size off hand, I'm assuming it's the 5/8? Thanks in advance.

    EDIT: I'm coming up with P/N 396-702 21" w/5/8 arbor.
