A nine year retirement home dream for us, bought the land in 2015.
We'd go out every 2 years & rent a house in the area for 2 weeks to get to know the vibe of the place.

Looking forward to sitting on the deck w/ a coffee & listening to the wind.

I wish I could bush hog it all, but that wet spot would burry the tractor.

I have one of those blowers.

Was really a PITA to start - until I learned the proper way to. I always used to flood it.

Exhaust flow is really important. Mine came with a flame arrester in the muffler - took that out, made a difference.

Otherwise, throttle set at half, choke on. Pull until it coughs. Choke off, pull until it starts. Mine starts much now than when it was new.

If we’d all do this our decks would last a lot longer

Have you used the Rust Reformer long term?
What is your opinion/experience with it?

Nice job BTW, I like your storage stands. :101010:

My first time. I usually just clean it up and spray fluid film all over it and call it good. This is my third season with that deck and it’s getting some pitting so I decided to use a sealant. A friend of mine put POR15 on his and it stopped the rust but we’re talking the underside of a mower deck so nothing has been found that will last longer than a season. As far as long term, some reviews on the Rustoleum product said they used it on their vehicle springs and frames and said it held a couple years so there’s that. Look up that product and read the reviews. I would use a Coraseal or por15 on something long term myself but this spray is fast and convenient and will wear away in this application so my goal was to stall the corrosion. It’s wet here in the PNW and the grass is on the acidic side due to the coniferous trees so anything we can do to prolong these decks is worth a day or 2 of maintenance.

Fab'd a blanking plate to make mulching leaves a bit easier. I'm not worried about a lot of grass since the critters keep that low. This is Version 1 so we'll see what happens. Next version would be heavier and more permanently attached. Any input is appreciated. Already put the Gator blades on so I'm hoping to avoid multiple passes.

I need to do an in depth review.

In short, I did not want a phone based unit. More often than not, they want you to install an app . I don't plan on using it that much to have it on my phone.

With that said I'm pretty impressed with this unit.

I do need to figure out the micro SD card storage. The pics above were pics by my phone of the screen.

There is evidence of the original cross machining, so I am confident that I can rehab this unit.

One of the first things I did when I got the Kubota a little bit ago. I did a complete service on the deck, cleaned the underside, and strapped it to the wall in the shed. I still have zero turn to mow/ remove leaves with so don’t need it on

Drain tiles are mighty spendy, but that piece looks like a real hay producer! Grass likes water!

Anyone seen any good info on deck rebuilds? I've got a 54 inch walk behind on it's last legs...
