Hustler with the Kohler been smoking, couldn’t see anything for the vacuum system. Took it off yesterday and found the culprit.

    upload_2025-2-11_18-9-44.jpg

Cleaned it up and the heat from the exhaust had made it not so pretty.

Luckily I have a spare, and found a new gasket.

It leaks as bad as the other one, stupid Amazon gasket. I’ll get a genuine Kohler tomorrow.

I did use my last Toyota filter from my 1st gen for the oil change.

10” of new snow this morning! I cleared driveway last night when we had about 4” already so should be pretty easy this morning. Then I get to hit the neighbors which hasn’t been touched yet. Fun tractor work

This snow was not really on the driveways or roads... Stuck to the trucks & so on , piled up on the ground... But the driveway is already clear.

I text my buddy who works on welders a picture of the valve cover gasket and ask if he had one, he said yes. Went by after work and he said you just need one? I said yes, he handed it to me and I ask how much. He said nothing, you got that broke starter bolt out of that engine for me last week. I said I know and you paid me, he wouldn't let me pay him for it.

Side note, I told him $50 for getting the bolt out, insert was $13 and I spent a couple hours messing with it and picked it up and delivered it. When I told him $50 he said "that's it?"......he gave me $100

I was thinking that was the river, but wasn't sure.

Odd question. Anyone ever build an electric trailer dolly? Thinking about building one for my father. Considering using a ride on mower, taking the engine off and shortening the chassis down. Then use a 12v electric motor of some sort to run either a chain or belt drive.

    All the time.

I wanted to use a ZT mower with an actuator mounted to the front.

There are some high quality Toro units that came with shitty decks that can be picked up cheap.

Wasnt out of a lawn mower, but a buddy built one that sort of looks like the ones used for small planes. But just had a vertical tube that was height adjustable with a ball on top. Was just a simple square tubing frame with a gas engine and then a long handle to be able to hold it and move it around. Only issue was his was only one direction lol.

Ive seen some people use old snow blower or tillers and remove the tiller/blower portion and weld/bolt on framework for a hitchball so if you had someone getting rid of an old one that could be an option too. Biggest complaint ive heard with those style is if the ground is soft.

Spent the morning trying to to figure out why my standby genie wasn't test starting.

Dead battery, but why? Still testing to see if the on board charger is bad.

Gotta run and get the taxes done. Will do more testing later today.

    Standby, no pun intended, lol.
