The ones from oreilys are what Ive been running. Havent had any issue with them. Their basic line.

Used to always do NAPA but the past three batteries we had all failed within 2 years. 1 was in wifes car that was driven daily, 1 in our SUV that got driven every other day, and 1 that was in my MR2. The MR2 one sat on a trickle charger a lot so thats a wash but the other two were disappointing.

In my line of work the subject of batteries came up often. I had a salesman tell me that he had worked at a manufacturing facility when he was younger. He said the batteries would come off the assembly line and hit conveyor belts that went different directions. The conveyor belt they ended up on determined what manufacturers labeling was attached to them.

There are only like 3 battery manufactures in the US. But just like how Gas and Oil all "comes from the same plants", they can be different still. I know also at one point Wal marts batteries were from different plants. One tier would be one plant, while the next tier was a different one.

In my experiance brand doesn't honestly matter as long as its not to cheapest option. You are paying more for the warranty then the battery. My fleet mainly uses napa batteries and when we get a pallet you can tell that the same exact battery has been made by more then one manufactor. Personally I use to run NAPA batteries for about a decade and while I never had a issue with them I have switched over to Costco interstate cause the napa store near my old job closed but the biggest perk is its got a 3 year warranty with the sale date attached to my membership.
I recall seeing a Advance Auto battery label peel off and loo-and-behold underneath was a CarQuest label.

Of course if you are going offloading with heavy loads and/or long periods I do recommend buying a high end battery.

My own equipment I don't bother buying a new battery when it gets week. As long as the small engine stator and voltage regulator are fine, I just use my lithium ion jump pack to start the machine. They so small, can fit in a coat pocket.

I was doing that at the end of the past season and honestly it got real old quick. It actually almost wanted to start a couple weeks ago after sitting months, but I had to go back in the house, grab my keys, and grab the jump pack out of the truck :annoyed:

Well I found out today (the hard way) that my winch on my tractor isn't working.

Good news is I had a chain, so did it the hard way........ Chain to tree & to FEL, curl bucket... Moved 18"... Get off reset... Do again. After about 6 of those series it was unstuck.

Tomorrow will start in to see what's up with the winch.

I don't know why, but I never really thought about putting a winch on the tractor. What size is and how did you install it?

Morning y'all, they have moved the pressure washing stuff outside again for the production crew. Stupervisor keeps saying it won't be long before pressure washing is finished. I tend to believe him since I heard something from the bosses mouth about hiring a crew to get it done.
I forgot I got my QCH for the B7100. Will be installing tomorrow morning I hope.
Y'all have a great day and be careful.

Its a 4500lb winch. I here the solenoid clicking from pushing the button... Nothing visually wrong.

We'll see here after while. Will jump it direct.

    Think it's a Viper brand.

Yeah on my hills even this 4wd Kioti needs a winch if it's not dry.

ive just got a basic badlands 5000 "atv" winch in a hitch mount bracket thingy. Then I just plop it in my weight rack/hitch receiver for the 3 point. The wiring is usually pretty janky but I rarely use it so havent spent the time to fix it.

Well, got a little done today, changed oil on mower, mowed some patchy spots that decided to grow better than rest of the area.

Mowing already!? ralph's rule #1, never mow before may. Not to mention I'm day 2 after lithotripsy up the wazoo! No bouncing thank you. I got up this morning and asked if it was tuesday yet (stent gets removed then)

Rule #2 never cut longer than 30 minutes (not at a time, the whole lawn)
Rule #3 Never cut more than once per week

Have had to break all these rules since the spring comes earlier every uyear.

Hmmm, 4500lb winch on a tractor that's 4500lbs. That's a bit undersized for the application. You might want to consider going up in size to something like an 8k winch.

Good catch. & Memory on what my setup weighs!

Yeah its right there number wise, but its never really pulling that much. Usually block/tackle it.

When not, its just as a bump while in the seat with the wheels turning & out of the soft spot.
Then there's that its what I had on the shelf thing. :-0 (still got another one NIB)

Welp got out the B7100 out to stretch it's wheels.
Tried out the BB with the Speeco QCH today, did a little road work and moved some soil in the garden.IMG_20250322_114224114_HDR.jpg
Thinking about putting the 5 ft. Scrabe blade up for sale.
