I thought the same. That belt route does not seem right, from what I can tell from the pic.

Yeah, routing is right. I don't like the bracket that is suppose to keep the belt on the pulley actually constantly rubbing.

It looks like with some minor fab work you could make it adjustable again.

KOD would be the guy to ask on this.

But on my bigger decks its always been about not being able to turn the belt sideways out in the free play area.

That's kind of what I was thinking on doing. Get a few cutoff wheels for a dremel and cut the bracket off the deck. Then drill a pair of holes to bolt it on.

Looks to me they might have incorporated the tension adjustment into the engagement mechanism.

The end of the cable is just a ball, no adjustment in it. If the bracket was still adjustable it would be fine. Contacted the salesman, taking it down to the dealer next week. He said it definitely isn't right for it to have that much slack, have 2 bars rubbing on the belt, and screaming when engaging.
Said they will get it in while I wait. I figure that will give me a chance to look over the 1023 and 1025 tractors since I'm thinking about getting one to replace my 55 ford. I will also go look at the Kubota lineup.

Had to look up a vid. See what you mean now. They don't list a way to tighten the belt in the manual. I agree with others. mark it, cut the bracket off, drill it out and bolt it down. I assume this is someone's idea because "if we wield that bracket down they'll have to buy a new belt instead of adjusting it". All the JD equipment we received at the course last year is just junk. We had so many warranty calls I'm not sure how they are staying in business. Maybe they are seeing this and that's why your bracket is wielded down. LOL

I'm going to give the dealer a chance to fix it. I'll also stop and buy some dremel cutoff wheels while in town. Maybe they will put a shorter belt on? Or I can talk them into cutting the weld and drilling the holes. That way, it is a dealer repair and doesn't effect my warranty.

First thing I'm thinking is how old is that belt? And is it actually the correct belt size. Just did mine on the E130 and definitely doesn't look like that slack.
The reason I ask about belt size is if you bought it someone might have put the wrong belt in the cardboard holder.
    Food for thought.

I would call the dealer first. If they want to sell more tractors they will do what they can to keep their current customers happy

Already done. I sent them pictures and explained what was going on. He said something isn't right and to bring it down. Said they will get it into the shop while I wait. I was hoping for an easy fix so I didnt have to make the 2hr drive. But, it is rinsed off and loaded onto my trailer.

I'm betting on wrong belt size. Maybe P.O. used it for what they needed and returned mower with broken belt and wrong size got put on.
keep us posted. I get what you mean about time and travel, every city/town is 30 mins. away.

Morning got some tractor stuff done yesterday. Fun day. I had put an amber light on rear of tractor it didn’t work so well in the snow so replaced it with a wider white led

since I had to buy a pair I added one to the top of ROPS which let me angle the other lights out

finally got to install the Pirahna tooth bar can’t wait to try it @virginiamarine

mainly though I got to finally fix the deck height adjustment knob so I don’t drop mower carriage when I lower 3 point. Also scored an electric hoist from work for free so put that up in garage it’ll be way easier stringing deer up

Nice upgrades! That bota is starting to look like an off road truck with all the lights! I don't intend on doing any night time work and all my lights are pretty functional as is (except for the headlights that literally sit behind the bucket). But, you never know....and I do have a bunch of leds sitting around. haha

When it snows particularly I’m usually working and get cought having to plow in the dark. Plus when I get to working around the yard I tend to go until dark and then stuck having to remove the loader to put tractor away in the dark so the lights help a bit
