Make sure the rubber fuel line from the tank to the engine isn't collapsed internally, the ethanol fuel does random bad things sometimes. I had one with a six inch section internally destroyed yet outside looked fine. 100 psi of air couldn't push through it.

My old Farmall 140 had a piece of cellophane like material less than 2 inches square inside the tank, it would randomly block the port on the bottom where the fuel petcock is. I only happened to see it floating around in there when looking in the fill opening with a flashlight. That one was a P-I-A...

My Kawasaki had 2 fuel filters. One before the pump at the fuel tank and the other at the engine. I changed both and pulled the tank, drained it and replaced all the fuel lines.

Time consuming yes, but once knowing all the fuel source is cleaned, one less thing to question yourself with.

If I remember correctly it was built in 1991.I bought in 2014 with 725 hours on it .It came with a 50 inch mower deck and a 48 inch Snow blade for the front . I have slowly been adding attachments.

Pretty quiet for me this time of year with the tractor, got the deer food plot planted (turkeys are eating everything that’s coming up though) and got the farm bush hogged for the year. Now it’s time to fight leaves and deer hunt

I've got a fuel injected JD 445 with practically the same motor mounted horizontal. It has a fuel pump in the tank like a car. Deere wants $450 for a new pump but i found a knockoff on Amazon for 69.99. Do you know if yours has the pump in the tank?
Also to check the plastic cam gear, pop off a valve cover and watch the rockers.

I’m using our 40 horse new Holland to do some deer season prep today and after about an hour I noticed a bunch of ants climbing up the steering shaft, I drove it back to be fairly close to the truck and then gave the order to abandon tractor, hopefully they find their way off in half an hour or so.
