Did you have to weld some fresh metal on there for the teeth to bolt too?

Buddy of mine was having issues getting his JD rider started. I stopped over and did a quick diagnosis. Was able to start it jumping the post on the starter.

Didn't have a meter, but guessing bad solenoid or key switch/ fuse.

Takes 2 people to start it, since 1 person needs to be in the seat with brake pushed in and the other can jump the post on the starter.

Got a text a couple hours later with a pic.

" I can start it by myself"

I did not get a pic of where those wires are landed, but I have a scary belief that this switch is used to jump the 8 gauge wire post on the starter!

...as long as the face plate screws are indexed.

We don't allow half assed repair work in this thread.

I thought a little of this as I read an article about these 2 guys who were killed yesterday in a most horrific way. Electrocution from a power line. These poor souls....we should never underappreciate safety. It's one of the reasons I don't bother with major electrical, gas, plumbing work since I want it done safely and to code.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
12 volts can get scary, I always put the plastic caps on battery terminals when I carry or install one.
    Scary stuff!

It's not the volts, It's the amps that do all the work/

This happened to friend of mine's neighbor when we were young. He was trying to get on the roof or something and touched the latter to the power line. It's really sad it still happens in this day and age when they have the ability to install them under ground. In the long run it's also most likely to save money due to limbs and such. But they force the cost onto the property owners because, hey profits.

My SpeeCo QH is out for delivery this morning. The Stump Grinder is supposed to be delivered on Monday.
I was reading (for the first time) last night that on the Kubota L series tractors like mine you have to be careful not to lift the QH too high, for fear of breaking a taillight lens. I have a broken lens on the left side already when I got the tractor... maybe that's why.
I was also looking into exactly what I need to do to mount the QH to the tractor. None of the pictures/videos I found state the exact size, but I'm wondering about the pins that attach the lower part of the QH to the 3pt arms. In the pictures I found those pins don't appear to be a very large diameter. But the holes with the round "bushings" on my tractor arms are somewhat close to an inch. Am I missing something? Or will it all become apparent when the QH arrives?

Yours look like CAT 1 size which is 7/8" pins. I'd guess that's what they are on your grinder as well.

    Here's a whole list of sizes from 0-4 https://www.hobbyfarms.com/from-0-to-4-defining-the-different-three-point-hitch-categories/

Yes, the Kubota specs for L3901 say it's a Cat1 3pt hitch. The SpeeCo I have coming is for Cat1. I was just concerned that in the pictures I found, NONE looked like those pins that mount the QH to the 3pt were that large a diameter. In any case... UPS just got here as I was typing this response, so I'm about to find out . . . :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :hattip:
