Question time: with trees beginning to shed its time to start thinking about pick up duty. Years past I’ve rigged a borrowed leaf vac to the zero turn, but it never worked fantastic, and I’d prefer not to have to ask for the borrow again.

So, I’ve been eyeballing tow behind lawn sweepers. Does anyone have any suggestions/experience with one of these that will do good with leafs and acorns? I’ve been looking at the agrifab 44” and 52”.

Yeah, it’s a pretty nice place to be. Just under 3 acres, 270 feet of water front, and with 720 feet of road/driveway. Bought it for mostly summer use, and to eventually retire too. Only 13 and a half years to go. With coronavirus taking a heavy toll on the industry I’m in, I’ve pretty much been living here full time since March. It’s not going to be easy going back to city life when, or if things ever get back to normal.

I remembered about our plow and started using it at the plot, it works much better than the disk.
Look at that nice dark soil.

Hopefully I can get it all plowed and disked before the rain from the hurricane hit.

Got everything plowed and then knocked down with the disk today, probably gonna build a drag panel for the side by side tomorrow so we can smooth it a bit more before we seed it.

Making a food plot, it was all underbrush 3 weeks ago, as far as I’m aware the last tome anything was planted on this property was about 15 years ago back when it was a pine farm.

Got my sod cutter working tonight. It'll be put to work tomorrow removing 12x50ft of my co-workers sod. My only test spot out here is a 25x25ft x 1ft high raised garden spot the previous owner put in. The rest of my soil is AR rocks with dirt sparsly sprinkled between them. The garden spot has burmuda on top soil. It is dark so I couldn't see much but I got off the GT and rolled up the sod carpet.

I'll shoot video tomorrow when we put it to work. Got a trailer to load in the morning. Gonna take my 3205, IH #4 dump cart, 3240, box blade, cultivator, fork set, and 500lbs of weight plates. 3205 will pull the cart I will load with the 3240 and dump on the trailer.

Put my new starter on today and same issue. Wouldn’t turn over. Turns out I had a wire on my switch bad and a rusty prong. Fixed!

Looks like the kid and I will be mowing again and bro joes place.... it appears he was to busy this past week to mow any of his 8 acres that he mows during the week... let’s see what we can mow before the rain sets in... according to the weather we have until about 5 pm.
