I've been getting hounded by calls / letters from Larry H Miller in Spokane begging me to consider trading in my '04 4x4 DCab TRD for one of their new '11's.

Now I may be a moron but it's pretty obvious that when people are begging for what you have, then you have something special.

So ... what would it take to get 1st genners into an '11?

And (for those who've made the switch from 1st to 2nd) how many regret it?

I'm not willing to trade unless I get the following:
    - Lower payments (no less than 1/2)
    - Exact truck (TRD 4x4 DCab)
    - Possible matching Canopy
    - All the fucking bells and whistles

It would take even trade plus 10k cash from them for me to trade.

It's just a very well known marketing scam, when they know what knid of vehicle you have via service or otherwise, they send mass letters out saying how your car is in high demand, maximum value, etc etc. the 04 is a better truck anyway.

They have two reasons- and no more than that, why they want you to bite-
    1. They can resell your truck for a hefty profit
    2. They want you to buy one of their new ones
    they win at both.

    See that's the thing -

I paid a premium for mine (20k before tax, warranty, etc). So they would have to give me what I paid for it (and a hefty discount on a new one) before I even considered it. Essentially, if they offered me an '11 and I only had to finance 5 or 6k I would bite - but that's it. I wouldn't sell for anything less.

Who knows ... maybe I'll go down and see how much their willing to bend over. Would be nice to screw a dealership for a change ;).

I got the same letter today. Funny.

If you do decide to get a 2nd gen, I suggest selling your truck outright. I sold my 1st gen on craigslist (in Spokane) in 4 hours.

    Aha!

    Those cocksuckers.

I like the idea below - trade. sell. buy. laugh all the way to the bank.

I switched from 1st gen to 2nd, and have zero regrets. love my 06 especially for the extra room.
