Before you scream HELL NO! Hear me out :D. I found this 02 yota on craigslist (http://anchorage.craigslist.org/cto/2034217994.html) with only 52,000 miles. Currently, I have a 10' yota with trd offroad package and about 15,500 miles. I've been wanting to get a 1st gen yota and put a long travel kit on it with some other goodies. What do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Side note - It's really not too much fun driving a brand new vehicle =\.

Well first I'm going to see if he wants to give me some cash and just trade for mine. He said he needs to sell for a truck with more towing power for his new toys...but I'm not sure if he's thinking of getting a full sized truck. The truck was posted up 9 hours ago so I'll see what he says tomorrow.

Things I want to do if I end up getting it...

    - Long travel kit
    - New shocks in back/leaf springs
    - Fiberglass front fenders
    - Tires/rims

    Then just go from there.

Haha yea, I really don't "need" it but it would be fuckin awesome =\. The more sensible thing would be to get a solid axle and do an sas. That's actually what I would most likely do since I live up here :(. So if I were to throw a solid axle on it w/ other things...would that be a good idea to trade?

    EDIT:

Turns out the seller is an old friend from 4 or 5 years ago. He inherited an ocean boat and bought a 2011 tundra. I would have to sell my truck and then buy his..

I think a SAS is a way better option...then you could have the option for front and rear locking diff ;)

X2 - do what make's you happy man. You can read through a bunch of mixed opinions, but at the end of the day, you're the one that has to live with your decision.

That appears to be a well kept 2002 but just hope you never have to regret when you need the extra towing capacity or power. Good luck with your decision.
