What exactly changed in 17 or 18? Or 19 ?
    I keep hearing this myth.
Is there a sheet of different part numbers and modules ? Not exactly.
    Just melting snowflakes.

What about the master brake cyl ? Wait, that is 18. Theory debunked.

Curious how that chart looks like from first gen to second, and then the second facelift years

It’s pretty interesting that you can watch the complaints go up as the trucks get more and more complex

If you go read those complaints for 2nd Gen you will find just a few on body when 2nd Gen frames are rotting out. What does that say. More people on Internet now ?

Either that or the average Joe isn’t going to know that their frame is rotting out. All gens frame rot out (I could be wrong on this, but doesn’t the 3rd gen share almost the same frame?). The average joe is going to know when they can’t get their transmission to shift into D though.

Nope. 3rd uses high strength steel in cab. Major improvement.

Cab? What does that have to do with the frame rotting out? (Not trying to be a dick, trying to see if I’m missing something)

Out of your 2403 posts, how many would you say you spent defending your truck? 1700? 1800? 2403?

I wouldn't expect anything else according to his user name to be honest. A lot of the hate on here the 3rd genners brings on themselves....Reading this dribble makes the time at work go by though. Carry on boys!

I remember sitting in a new 2nd gen DC about 10 years ago my wife she said buy it but I didn’t feel like I could afford it, fast forward now thrilled to have a 3rd gen, goes like stink when I want it to, nice to drive but missed out on a good 10 years of enjoying that 2 gen. I feel blessed and happy to have a Tacoma at all.

Defending ? Zero. Just making people such as yourself properly informed. Knowing what to believe on the internet is important. There is so much bs in here its ridiculous.
I can back my posts with factual links.

factory side step, didn't get a chance to do anything to it yet, haven't even got to put it in 4 wheel mode yet. Lame, but I work a lot.
Yeah adding the platinum care to the 19 is advisable. With all the new technology its hard to say what will malfunction. I added it to mine, even though I rarely buy warranties.

Jesus Christ, who in their right mind would argue that Air Supply is better than ABBA?

He can point you to a TFL YouTube towing showdown video where the 3rd Gen wins against the second gen. #qualityscience

He can also send a link regarding the HP and torque superiority of the 3rd gen.

Because redline output numbers are more important than drivability.

Just my .02, but I have had literally zero issues when my 17’ rolled off the lot. Two years and 30k miles later, still none and still makes me smile:notsure:
