    Why?

Be forewarned....I'm a knowledgeable prior diesel owner that did his research and is prepared for verbal combat. :D

I too am a prior diesel owner. I have no idea why you’d buy an underpowered tow vehicle with a gas unless you can’t afford it.

Technically, you are looking back, you're justifying your purchase on a tacoma forum so....

I like the way Rams look. I just can't go back to the Dodge / Chrysler group. My 3rd and 4th vehicles were both them, and there are too many other more reliable options for the money IMO.

I'm sure the quality is improving. Good luck with your RAM.

Not trying to justify anything, I made the trade months ago. My Taco was great, I had no problems. I just needed more room and more power.

I only tow a few times a months so no, I didn't buy it as a tow vehicle.

Underpowered? It's got the 6.4 rated over 400HP....it pulls anything I hook to it and it's pretty quick too (for a b.a.t.)

I could go buy any diesel I wanted.

I've done the cost of ownership math, (gas vs diesel) every way you can shake it. A diesel will never be cheaper than a gasser to own and operate (plus I don' care for the smell of diesel).

Yup thus why I bought the dinosaur aged 2018. Hoping since it’s the ending time of the 3rd Gen tundra it’s got all the kinks worked out cause I’ll be owning this sucker for a long time to come. Unless of course the next Gen tundra is a BAMF or they put the V8 back in the T4R :D

I think why Dodge calls it the RAM or the Powerwagon is
the Ram is still part of the sheep family and it still follows the herd
and at the end of the day you can always jump and the Bandwagon

I will admit tho Dodge Really Does give Good Deals on their Trucks tho

they used to have horrible safety ratings, so I hope they have improved that according to consumer report.

400 less ft lbs of torque than the diesel. Pass.

Honest question, why is it that so many Dodge trucks and SUVs that i see on the road have rust problems? Yesterday i saw a Dodge SUV with rust all along the bottom of the rear hatch door and fenders. I would stay away from Dodge unless they've fixed those rust issues.

I had a Tacoma 1st gen off road which I traded in for a Nissan Pro 4 x. I later traded the Nissan in for a 3rd gen Tacoma off road. Nissan had no resale value compared to the Tacoma's. You may pay more up front. However, it is well worth the extra cost in the long run. I vote used Tacoma 4x4 if new is not in your price range!

[IMG] [IMG] I like Frontier. Followed them for the last couple of years hoping for a refresh as I didn't want to spend so much on an old design. That being said I was ready to pull the trigger on one last summer but my dealer wouldn't move. So I went Tacoma for an extra 4 or 5 thousand on a new design and better resale value. I did like that the frontier was loaded and it drove nice. Supposed to be bulletproof and kinks are worked out, which is worth something.

Frontier is due for a refresh. If you look at Navara, it's historically been the Frontier counterpart in other countries (EU, MEX). I'd like to see that come out in the rest of North America as they are a nice looking truck IMO. When that happens, you might be able to get a great deal on this current gen. if you found a leftover. However, it's going to be 6+ months until something is announced about 2019's. I waited last year anticipating something new. It never came... :taco:
