This thread is awesome. I vote keep Tacoma. A rav 4 is SO boring in comparison. I needed an SUV for growing family. So I replaced my Tacoma with a Land Cruiser. Step up, not down!

I’m not sure what your goal in asking this is. If you (1) prefer the crossover, (2) can afford the change and (3) the cost of the change is worth it to you, then go ahead.

If any of (1)-(3) is not correct, don’t bother. And don’t worry about gas mileage. You’re driving so little that you won’t be saving much.

But this is up to you. Don’t look to internet strangers to tell you what to do or to validate how you spend your money. It’s not our job.

1200 miles in a year? You should just get a bike.

Seriously, trade the Taco on get the cheapest beater car you can. Trade the 4runner on the RAV4 prime if you want. Or do whatever you want?

Passed on the Prime :) in the end while cool now at some point market will be flooded and will have longer range and its a rav4 in the end. New problem now (not really a problem) . I have been contacted on a GR corolla now. It's the core but with the performance pack and every other option. I'd get msrp value on my trade, which was 50k and pay msrp on the GR which is 40k and I'd pay no sales tax. The 4runner and Tacoma basically do the same thing so thought this would be a better mix and GR will be a better holder of value plus its made in Japan which I like and I think they give you a track day :).

My suggestion? Next time, don't ask a question to a bunch of strangers on the internet

Late to this thread...stayed off TW on a Friday Night.

I insist we drive my truck on weekends for grocery shopping and wife errands.

    Background:

Wife & I drive each take our own cars to work.

Both vehicles are Automatic and have push-button start; rear drums on both.

    It's great to have a Sedan (2.0L) & Truck (3.5L)

Next month we drive to Toronto for Depeche Mode concert...guess which car were taking? (hint: the 2.0L engine)

My point is, it's great to have 2 options. Any more and it can get interesting.

    Happy Saturday.

I think I'd rather have a GR over any other new Toyota available today. I like the 4R over the Tacoma, and the Tacoma would be the most versatile out of the three.

I would also get a standard Rav4 over the hybrid or Prime. The additional cost of either isn't worth the expense IMO for my use. I get over 2 weeks of range, or more out of $100 of gas, I could lower my intial fuel cost with a more fuel efficient vehicle, but I'm not going to notice the minimal savings in mpgs at the end of the day. Chances are I'd spend the extra money on a DQPWC, instead of a single. Which would be worse for my health, and the environment in the long run.

On behalf of the Tacoma Preservation Society please release that unicorn manual Pro back into the wild where someone will drive it daily and fully appreciate it.

What you replace it with seems pretty irrelevant b/c you don’t drive much anyway. Buy whatever you feel like looking at while it’s sitting in your garage. Maybe a Schwinn.

Gotta ask why did you even buy a Tacoma (especially a TRD Pro) in the first place if you only drive 100 miles a month? Honestly, your problem is not being content with vehicles most people would be over the moon just to be able to own.

Between the two of you y’all only drive 4200 miles per year? You only need one vehicle. Any of the three will do.
