My buddy had a 2002 F250 with the manual. The shift lever was like 5 feet long and the gears were Creeper, 1, 2, 3, 4, and overdrive. Gotta keep that 4 on the floor for grandpa! Don't you dare call it a 6 speed. It was a single cab long bed 2wd. Everywhere we went everyone thought we were "the help". Oh the landscapers are here! Nope, just two knuckleheads in an old truck!

My last truck was a 1994 7.3 power stroke F350 dually crew cab with the manual trans. It was a beast. A lot was good about it but definitely not everything. We put over 100,000 miles towing a boat on trailer which was just shy of 40ft long and every bit of 12,000 lbs. combined weight on the CAT scales of 22,000 lbs. I still wish my Tacoma was a little smaller (on the outside :)).

I do not miss the Ford at all!

He jumped his truck while towing an overloaded trailer. No truck will take that well.

After weeks of shopping around and a few test drives, I settled on this. 2019 Ford F150 XLT 2.7 super crew 5.5 box 4x4. Sport and FX4 package with trailer tow as well. Navigation and remote start. About 600km on it so far and its crushing my tacoma in mpg and power. I had it down to 10.2L/100km a few days ago. Still at 11.0 right now with mixed driving at 2200ft above sea level. Size is better for the three kids and overall a better truck for us. The tacoma would of been a better truck for us 5 years ago. Sad to see the Taco go but it had to be done. Plans are to get a bigger trailer next year so the added power and size was necessary.

Great choice among the 1/2 tons currently on the market. The Tundra is simply too dated, it’s 13 years old and the platform has been neglected by Toyota like a red headed step child.

The 2.7l EB is a great engine. Great mileage yet power when you need it. F150s look best in Oxford White, so thumbs up on the color choice. Would you mind sharing the MSRP and what kind of deal you were able to snag?

There is some of slight of hand in the pulling stunt. Mechanical Engineers can figure this out quite easily, but I will give Ford an A+ for marketing.

They say that once drive an electric vehicle you will never go back to a combustion powered car again. I had the opportunity to test drive a Tesla Model S Dual Motor over a long weekend. Getting back into our gasoline engine powered vehicle was like stepping back in time.

My wife has a Model 3. It’s an amazing car with incredible performance. But when I walk out to the driveway to make an errand run my Taco 6MT wins every time (at least when I don’t feel like gearing up to take one of the bikes :)) Yes, IC is antiquated compared to the modern electric tech, but it’s too ... sterile for me.

Without the paperwork in front of me, I believe my selling price was 44k and change. Keep in mind thats Canadian currency. MSRP on the window sticker was 57k.

Super happy with my decision. Did my ceramic coating today and she looks sharp. Cant wait for the first road trip with the family in August.
