I can pull the cover easily enough and sell it. OVtune would also be sold. Hadn't thought about selling the tune. Guess I would l just sell the cable and connector since the tune is installed in the truck already?

I don't have time or patience to deal with the public when it comes to selling a vehicle.

"Trade in" value is so murky. Amount you get over your expectations can quickly become swallowed by the new vehicle purchase.

It would be wise to set both your own threshhold of what you want out of your truck AND what you want to pay for the new one. If those numbers align, then you're good. But prep for this before you go further.

    Yeah.
You can, but it can be a hassle -- plus you only pay sales tax on the difference between your trade and your purchase rather than the entire purchase. We bought my wife's 4Runner outright with no trade, and sales tax was painful. Assuming 6.25% sales tax, that's $2,250 savings in sales tax on a $36K trade-in. Sometimes it's worth it.

You got off cheap. Sales tax in my area is 9%.

This all day long. Sure you're leaving money on the table, but sometimes it's worth it.

People are legitimately broke these days, don't believe it try selling a car that's over $3k on CL

Huh? Sold my 2011 tundra for 30k and my 2013 Tacoma for 23.5k both on CL and they sold in less than 5 days. Both buyers brought cash...one was an average joe the other a used car dealer. There are plenty of people with cash looking on CL. You just have to be selling what they want.

Previous post is right. Just post it on cl for free and see what happens... You'll always find a new one if you sell it. If you get enough money, rent a car for a week while you look.

Went to another dealership. Seems like a good deal. Better money on my trade and good deal on the tundra. It also is certified pre owned with 7 year 100k warranty.

After buying my '16 used from someone trading up I would look forward to getting well taken care of Pro some day. Here is to hoping more folks who want to upgrade consider private sales. @Rider4 - if you change your mind and want to sell private let us know!

Well, I didn't expect to find myself in a GMC, but when I test drove the Duramax I was very impressed. I had a Canyon before my Tacoma and sold it with 200k on it. Hopefully this one will do as well. Just put the new wheels and tires on today. I appreciate all the help and advice you all have provided, but I guess this is where we part ways. I have a few things to sell for the Tacoma and will be posting them up in the classifieds soon.

The question I have is why are you trading in after only 2 years of ownership?

KBB has trade in from 36K to 39K. So the dealer is offering you bottom of the trade in range. Any mods means little in trading into the dealer.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Then be prepared to take the "LOSS" on your "stuff" --that's the way it IS!!
You are giving any profit there is to be had to the dealer--facts of life!

Too late -- he left us -so be it -- money means more to some than others!!

I sold my Wrangler on CL in 12 hours. That's because I priced it lower than the "competition", but still several thousands over KBB/dealer trade-in price.
