$32K. Plus, they are swapping my SX wheels onto the one I am buying because it has some ugly ass steelies that the paint is coming off of.

I would. If I could find another Rubicon, I’d do it without hesitation. Jeep felt far more solid of a vehicle. Taco is ok. Decent on road, decent off road. Doesn’t really do anything exceptional and really isn’t that fun to drive. A Jeep with open/open is a far more capable vehicle than this with the locker and nannies. Driven mine 30k in 3 years. The drivetrain is a tragedy. Kinda hate driving it if I’m going on a highway. And not to mention, Toyota service and support is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Probs the main reason I want to ditch it. Dealing with Toyota

The 3.6 in the JL platform is great. The JL’s drive a lot better than the JK’s. Then again my ZR2 Diesel drives better than my Tacoma’s ever did also, a couple yrs back I would have called someone crazy for saying that but that’s my experience. Some companies actually make improvements to their products and don’t just put stupid colours on their trucks and change one tiny thing a year that almost gets them up to 10yrs behind others

Get more on trade in = pay more for new car.
    It all balances out.

That Subaru will get old fast…. I picked up a 2018 WRX late 2017. It was gone by Feb 2018….. they’re not exactly great cars, the interior sucks, but i guess that is on par with mid sized trucks.

Have you ever driven a Golf R?!? If not consider it before the Subaru.

Modern Subarus are junk. Plus they don’t even rumble anymore. Much better options out there for the money.

After seeing my buddies new Bronco Badlands with a 2.7L 10 speed I'm about ready to move on from my Tacoma. But I need a bed!

You can just get an F150 with the same powertrain then? or better yet with the powerboost 3.5 TT

This is what I was coming to say. Granted, I did not go as far as buying a WRX.

I was in the market a few years back. WRX has a good look, in theory could be fun, and has some secondary market capability. When you look at them, drive them, and compare across the segment, I got lost in what the appeal is. They do not drive particularly well and therefore not all that fun to flick around. The interior creature comforts are in the mold of what a Tacoma is, utilitarian. That is fine in a truck that will have different purposes but in a car that is supposed to be a fun drive it is head-scratching. Then of course factor in the issues they’ve been having of late.

To me, I’d be looking at the new R. It’s the direction I went at the time and wouldn’t look back. The type of power at four wheels in that size of a car makes for a good time. Not talking high end speed but more of closer to the joy of throwing a Miata into corners at speed. Comparing the interior and tech across the WRX is not a comparison either.

The Lexus is on the other end of the spectrum for me so I couldn’t comment.

Unfortunately those are too heavy for my use. I flat tow our Tacoma behind our RV around 10,000 miles per year

If it makes you happy, then go for it. However, you may make a killing on your Tacoma now, but the price of every car has skyrocketed as well. You're essentially just offsetting the cost. As much as I like the STI, I wouldn't trade a Tacoma for that. The STI well certainly put a smile on your face, but you're going to wear through tires faster (more expensive), they're terrible on fuel economy ($3.00 per gallon) and they aren't anywhere near as reliable.

As for the Lexus, they're also incredibly nice, but maintenance is going to be costly seeing as it's a "luxury" brand. That V8 really isn't going to you any favors in rising fuel costs, and both vehicles just don't hold value like the Tacoma. They're both awesome vehicles, but I would personally hold onto the Tacoma. It's not the fastest or most decked out with technology, but it's solid, reliable, holds value, fuel efficient, practical, and looks/drives damn good.

All in all, it's what makes you happy, but just some things to consider.

The only thing I would even remotely entertain trade my 2017 Sport for, would be a Tundra before they drop the 5.7. No frills and reliable, of course I would miss my MT
