25.5k seems very reasonable for a dealer.

if you wait for the end of the year you might have more equity but you also have to make those payments every month. and as others said, 19's are a coming.

Sounds about right. I traded in my 2017 Tacoma OR with 8500 miles on it which was 7 months old. Bought for 35 and traded it in for 32200 so about the same as yours. Ended up trading it in on a 18 4Runner.

Trade in does not matter without knowing what you are paying for the new rig...I am sure they are not doing you any favors. That said, Tacoma resale is remarkable.

I mean the rear locker makes the OR for older models. My bad on type.

Well damn, now I'm not sure what I should do. The trade-in value of 25.5 K is based on a 4runner TRD OR 4x4 (MGM), which the dealership is willing to sell for $40k OTD (including TTL). I'm assuming a Tacoma TRD OR would be of similar value. As it stands, my negative equity would be about $3,600. I might wait a bit and think hard about this. Is going off road and getting a more capable vehicle worth an additional $12,000? Not sure.

If you can private sale, do it. You'll feel much less of a pinch.

Always discuss sale price before mentioning trade in.

I just negotiated my mom a 2018 TRD OR premium with tech 4x4 for 38,150 otd Sale. Picking up Monday

Benefits of trading in are tax purposes. Plus fuck selling anything now a days. Everyone wants to barter chickens and eggs.

It is excellent value on a trade. Now ask yourself why you are considering trading? If you NEED 4WD, easy decision trade it in. If you want an OR or 4 Runner just to have them and cannot justify a reason to swap over, then you literally paid 4 grand to rent a vehicle for 6 months, then paying an additional 12K? Does not seem like the best move financially.

Ain't that the truth. "I'll trade you this 1998 Ranger for your 2018 Tacoma, plus $500 cash today. Ranger has a slipping transmission and slight knock in the motor when I parked it under the oak tree in 2009 so the paint is all shot to hell too but my buddy can paint it for you for $1000 he said. You gotta supply the paint, clear coat, marking tape and tools though".

My favorite is the ad that says "ran when I parked it" and you have trees growing 3 feet from the truck in every direction and weeds up to the roof.

25.5 only if they give you 3500 or more off the base MSRP of the new Offroad.

Am I the only member on TW that uses NADA.Com or KBB to determine the FMV for a vehicle? Seriously.

Got a postcard from my dealer saying they want to buy it back, and, of course sell me a new one so i went in today for S&G..
'16 TRD OR AC pretty much stock @ 39k miles. They offered me $23k for my truck, eventually got it up to $25k but couldnt work a deal for a new one.
